It is now 7.3.07!

Just one question for you americans, is the 4th of July really an important release date for movies? Or is it just because it's on a holiday and convenient?

I think it's mostly cause of the holiday. Many disaster movies hit that date so everyone will cheer when the humans win; "America! F**k yeah!"

So will will opening a dal early really have much of an impact?

I bet most people won't even know about it. They will go on 747 like the mega-assload of adveez told them.

Probably not much... but it will give them a little help making a bit more $$$ before Harry Potter comes out the following week.

Thx DL, have a cookie for your efforts

I don't care as long as the movie makes huge box office (only, if it deserves money)

Bastards :cmad:

I'm gonna have to quit writing movie dates on my calendar for the coming year.

You have to hope for more then just make money, sure everyone wants it to be successful but at the expense of screwing up the whole TF lore, that aint cool. At this stage if it makes good money then there will no doubt be a sequel, and if this is the case, the pressure on producers will increase to fix the mistakes of the first movie.

Even though it opens a day earlier, I'm still gonna see it on July 4th.

So will there still be a midnight showing ?
as in I'de be going to the movies on July 2nd to see the 3rd's 12 AM showing ?

and will this be on IMAX ??
It should be !!!

Yeah. No surprise. They blinked.
Couldnt take the HP heat.

What do you mean? You think Paramount blinked by releasing Transformers one day earlier? The most perfect example of a movie company not being able to take the heat this summer is 20th century Fox. They changed the release date on Die Hard at least 4 times. They finally settled on a release date a week earlier than the original one to avoid Transformers.

I'm sure there will be a midnight showing that Monday night/Tuesday morning.

It's the second biggest weekend for movies here behind Memorial Day weekend.

And thesame happened with SR. If I were Spielberg, I wouldn't move release date because A) it's a great date for opening so huge blockbuster B) it's Wednesday and C) most of people won't get know about it, because trailers and TV spots have already been released with 7.4.7 line ;)
