The second Wachowski sibling of “The Matrix” trilogy has come out as a transgender woman, with Andy Wachowski, now going by the name Lilly, making an announcement on Tuesday.

It's unfortunate that Lilly was forced to reveal this publicly before she was ready to do so, but it's good that she has the support of family and friends.

I've seen some people elsewhere online ask about how common it is for two pairs of siblings to be transgender, and apparently it's more common than people realize.

Good on Lilly for calling out the Daily Mail's bs. That tabloid trash doesn't give a damn about trans issues. 90% of the opinion pieces in that paper are about how great it was pre-1960 when non-whites, women, the working class and such knew their place.

I still remember Jan Moir's gay bashing article on the death of Irish boyband singer Stephen Gately which caused a huge backlash in 2009.

Incidentally, this news gives me more incentive to stop procrastinating and finally buy the Matrix Trilogy like I've been meaning to. It also gives me incentive to stop procrastinating and watch Sense8, and to go seek out Cloud Atlas and Jupiter Ascending.

Yes, definitely watch Sense8. Do that ASAP. It's amazing! Seriously, it might be the best thing the Wachowskis have ever done.

Cloud Atlas has some great moments, but I feel like it was a misfire. Beautiful film, though. I couldn't get through 20 minutes of Jupiter Ascending though.

Also, that's really sh**y of the Daily Mail to force Lilly to come out. But yeah, good that she has a lot of support.

According to some stats I found online, there's a 1 in 200 probability of non-twin siblings being transgender.
