My old job the owner would send out and splurge for lunch once and a while for the whole crew. We used to order from this deli in the Diamond District. Not only were the amounts of roast beef or pastrami they would put in the sandwiches like, a mountain of meat, but they would have the freshest coleslaw you can imagine, like it at best was maybe hours old. I think that's a big issue with slaw. When it's premade or has been sitting for a while it loses something. But then, maybe I am biased. I like cabbage. Give me a nice aromatic cabbage head, put it with some potatoes and a big ham (with the bone in) in a pot, boil it till the taters are ready and the cabbage is still a little crunchy, slice that ham up and add some olive oil to the cabbage? Yeah... I could die right there and be happy.

I do agree that cabbage is better boiled in a dinner as opposed to slaw. It has more flavor.

I love cabbage but don't like coleslaw, creamy or vinegar.

I would go back in a minute!! its dangerous as ^&* but also its FREAKIN BEAUTIFUL!! freaking parrots outside your window in the morning!
