BvS It's always Darkest before The Dawn... Chris Terrio IS the Script Writer

Ya exactly what Marvel does, thats exactly it.

Goodness, there is a limit to fanboyism. Your comment sounds incredibly foolish and immature. I simply can't take someone who thinks Black Widow in The Avengers (and the upcoming Cap sequel) or Pepper Potts in the Iron Man trilogy were simply "eye-candy" seriously.

I found Pepper a bit "meh," but Black Widow was great.

And fanboyism has limits, but they are vast and not measurable by Earthly instruments.

I agree, but my point was that, regardless of whether they were well-written or not, they were not solely intended to be eye-candy and they most certainly had substantial roles in the story.

I agree. Especially Black Widow. I wasn't that fond of Avengers, but that was a good role.

I don't even think any of the press bothered to mention Nolan's rewrite of the film, that was all MCG's doing. In hindsight, it was bound to be a small hire.

The fact Terrio has become a headline should indicate his presence is far more than a mere script doctoring going on a single pass.

Really? I though the draft at least was done. Will he get credit as the script writer?

If I remember correctly..if they determine that he made significant changes then they will give him credit.

Remember when Jonathan Nolan rewrote Terminator: Salvation and they made such a big deal out of it... until it turned out his (much hyped) contributions weren't enough to warrant a credit?

Thank you. Many people just see the new writer's name and contributions and get all (over)hyped up and excited that Goyer's script is getting some treatment. We should wait until we see film accreditations to see if Terrio had a big or small role. This thread would have you believe that this guy is the best writer and that he's overhauling the script.

Was there even an official announcement when Jonathan Nolan wrote a draft for Terminator? I'm not saying it didn't happen, but it sounded like one of those "through the grapevine" mentions.

I never heard anything big about it until AFTER the film came out or when they had critic/press screenings like 2-3 weeks before.

The Hollywood reporter article states that he's been brought in to write a draft. A draft usually means a complete script, not just a re-write. This seems more like they're keeping Goyer/Snyder's story outline but threw away Goyer's 1st draft and brought someone else to do another draft based on that outline.

I think I'd rather just be excited about Terrio's involvement even if I'm disappointed in the end. I honestly didn't think another writer was going to be brought in, even in a small way. So this was a pleasant surprise. This is and the joaquin phoenix rumor are really the only things I've heard that have given me hope for this movie. So I'm just gonna keep rejoicing about it.

I think if this were actually the case, they would be nowhere near ready for a Feb 2014 start date. I think it's more likely a once through to polish up dialogue and flow.

It seems as though they're far more ahead in production than we think.

Hollywood deals are usually done weeks before they're announced actually. It's very likely Terrio has been already writing that draft for 4-6 weeks before the announcement was even made. On top of that, rewrites are usually still being made while shooting. I'll remind you that the first Iron Man film didn't even have a script ready and according to Jeff Bridges they were ad-libbing most of the dialogue, since they were shooting from a mere story outline.

It was Goyer himself who stated they are much further along than fans think they are. Remember, they started courting Affleck in early spring. Before MOS even came out.

I even remember Geoff Johns and Jim Lee slyly hinting that Comic Con was going to have a huge announcement if MOS had the right numbers. DC has been planning BVS for a very long time.

I think even Charles Roven said that a sequel was commissioned officially after MOS made $200 million worldwide in its second week of release.

I'd be shocked if they threw away Goyer's script.

Admittedly I read it the same way Alonsovich did.

^ I think Goyer has strong ideas (and even some of them are hint and miss) but has flaws with structure and dialog.
