It's Begining to Look A Lot Like Loungemas

Even though I did a SW marathon like 2 months ago, I'm thinking I should do another one before Thursday. Just OT this time, though. I've gotta satisfy the cravings somehow, now that I've done the comics and caught up on Rebels.

LOL, I'm in pure SW mode at the moment. Nothing else can distract me. I watched freakin' Battle Beyond the Stars yesterday for the first time cuz it seemed like a SW ripoff and I was desperate, lol.

Yeah me too. I've shunned all mah programs right now, it's all Star Wars all the time babeh.

Gonna see it in IMAX opening weekend with a buddy. Been avoiding clips, TV spots and conversation so I hope I am pleasantly surprised. The trailers have at least sold me on it being a great looking film, and I'd be lying if the nostalgia doesn't make me tear up.

I think I'm going to try and go dark until Thursday since the premiere is tonight.

I'm seeing the regular (thankfully non-3D) version Thursday night at 7pm because everything else opening night was sold out, then I have tickets to see it a couple days later in 70mm 2D IMAX at the Smithsonian, and then tickets to see the LieMax 3D version with the family. So...I hope it's good, lol.

I'm seeing the 3D version on Wednesday. Couldn't get a good 2D screening, sadly.

I'm seeing it Thursday at 7:20. Trying to decide whether I should get there two or three hours before it starts.

I'm only going about 1.5 hours ahead of time for my show. Usually I can do just fine with finding seats if I'm in line 1-1.5 hours early on big opening nights.

Assigned seats.

Thank you AMC.

But I'll still get there at least a half an hour early.

I'll be the last one to see it. :( Probably not until Christmas when I'm on vacation.

You and me both. I cannot handle the hardcore crowds; I will likely wait until almost the end of the calendar year before seeing it.

At least it gives us some time to hear some reviews first. :)

By reviews, I assume you mean the profanity-filled ban-generating arguments here about Chewie's bowcaster being the wrong colour.

I hate opening weekend crowds, but I love opening NIGHT crowds. They are like completely different species, lol. The opening weekend people just go because it's like, "the thing" to do that weekend, and they bring their kids and never cease to be rude and/or obnoxious throughout. The opening NIGHT crowds are in a party mood up until the movie starts, and then they're as attentive and reactive as you'd hope any engaged audience would be, because they're as excited about the actual movie as you are. They care, haha.

My Star Wars madness is getting out of hand. Can anybody recommend any vintage space adventure flicks to help quell these cravings? Star Wars ripoffs welcome! I already did Battle Beyond the Stars, which was almost worth it for the James Horner score alone, though I'd prefer something a little better if possible, lol.
