It's Clobbering Time! The Ben Grimm/ Thing moments we want to see in the MCU

I don't like the beard.
Yeah, I hope they have a reasonable explanation for it and he doesn’t have it for long.

I’ve been waiting 55 years to see The Thing on the big-screen. Now that we’re finally getting it, I hope they don’t ruin it with the beard.

I feel bad that The Thing can't be used more for fun promos because he's CGI.

The beard looks quite bulky. I also didn't know he could still grow his hair out.

if he grew it out as a disguise (wanting to take a break from public recognition) I don't think it's fooling anyone...

I wonder if he didn't even grow...
but, if it's something Alicia Masters sculpted for him (to change up his looks) assuming she's even in it

in the comics it turn him 100s of years to grow the beard, the time jump here is a year or 2 at best

technically it's an alternate-universe with a retro futuristic aesthetic, idk how their timeline works, or if it's even their "1960's" or if their modern day just looks like what we know to be our 60's

has there been anything in any of the trailers or marketing that actually says an exact year???

I guess either way it could go into what would be a 70's era for them if there's a time skip

It's definitely set in the 60's. There's a time magazine cover and few other Easter eggs that date it.

still the beard is odd...
could he always grow a beard, was he shaving (chiseling in his case lol) regularly for the first four years, then stopped during the next 1-2 year time skip

if he can grow a beard can he grow hair? why doesn't he have a big rock hairdo

I rather like the beard. :hmmIt's...an option. This character will be with us for a while, and we'll be seeing him again a year from now in Avengers: Doomsday. So, there will be other opportunities to switch his look up again to the clean-shaven version. I think the beard in this film is a plot device--to show time has passed. Not a deal breaker for me, personally.
