"It's Like Smallville, but with Wonder Woman!"

Doubt the first one big time. There are actresses lined up around the block that could play this role. Why be hung up on this particular one? Because she vaguely looks like Diana? Because obviously that's such a unique look... :o

Second one sounds more likely. I wouldn't be surprised if they brought in another showrunner should this make it to series.

How about Erika Fong {Mia, the Pink Samurai Ranger, in Power Rangers Samurai and Super Samurai.} as a Young Diana on "Amazon"?

I definitely don't want to see an asian cosplayer WW, which is what she will look like.

Is there even a chance of this show becoming a reality?

Yes. They haven't shelved it completely. They're taking their time.

I hope it turns out to not be shelved. With Smallville and now Arrow DC is quickly becoming a force on the small screen. I like it...

"Force on the small screen" may be jumping the gun a bit!

I really think this is just going to die out since it seems like they still haven't cast Diana or any one for the show.

They're not going to cast until they've been given a pilot order. Given that it's being held until midseason or next season, we're not getting casting for awhile.

She might be a good young Lady Shiva on Arrow. Not WW though.

Why? Because she's Asian? :whatever:

Anyway...I've come to the conclusion that if this does end up happening, it'll probably be cheesy, poorly-acted, have poor CGI and a lackluster script...But I'll still watch it to my dying day.

They usually don't cast until after a pilot order has been made. And even then Diana could be re-cast after the pilot showing.

Well, yeah I like these characters to at least halfway look like the comic characters.

Whoda thunk that Lynda Carter would be such a 30-plus year tough act to follow.

Quite frankly? Yes. And no, I'm not racist. I adored Sam Jackson's Nick Fury. I endured a Latina Susan Storm (which was in the end, quite unforgivable). I loved Dean Cain as Superman. Kerry Washington playing Alicia Masters was passable too. And I'm cool with other races being cast for certain minor characters.

But not Wonder Woman. She's just entirely too iconic to mess with her physical appearance like that. A national "WTF" uproar would ensue and WB would never be able to live it down.

Because it'll be on the CW? They have plenty of good serious shows on atm.

I count one - Nikita. And even that has more cheese than your average cable show. But Arrow, Supernatural, Vampire Diaries? The acting, CGI and writing on all of those are uneven at best. Downright cringe-worthy quite often, imo.

That's reaching a little. Force on the small screen? Who knows how this WW series will be and Smallville went down the crapper midway. God knows if Arrow can keep up its pace of being enjoyable and different too.

Lynda Carter was a Latina though. Or she was half Latina I think. Did she get a free pass because she looks more White than Latino?? Either way I agree with you, keep the race of main characters the same as they are in the comics (ie Asian Katana, Latino Blue Beetle, Black Cyborg, White Wonder Woman...etc). I don't know why some people have a problem with this train of thought...

Smallville went down the crapper like after the second season. I couldn't bear watching it.

I don't really think a show that stayed on the air for 10 years could be consider to have gone down the crapper at all. Even if you didn't like it, it obviously did something right.

MOST shows that go on for 10 years went down the crapper at some point, because no show was designed to last 10 years in the first place. As for Smallville, while it had a nice pilot, the show itself was never anything special, imo, even in S1. But it did have a certain "guilty pleasure" charm to it in some seasons.

The high school years were watchable, but middle of season five I quit it like a bad habit.

Let's just say I'd rather have a series gaining only 1-2 million viewers with some damn good writing(Supernatural) rather than a series that gains 2-4 million viewers with terrible writing and people sitting their butts down to watch it simply because it's about Superman.
