it's official batman has a son.

you guys realize that ever since Infinite Crisis certain titles once out of continuity are now back, like Superman Birth Right, I think Batman Year One, and some others as well

no, birthright is back out of continuity

i'm ok with Batman having a child, i'd just rather that it was with Selina and not Talia. hopefully this is just her saying to Batman that it's his son but it isn't realy, otherwise i'd be pretty annoyed.
Helena better not be Slam's, because if it is, i'll prolly stop reading Catwoman for good.

You know, theres a reason why Son of the Deomn was out of continuity. Why does Morrison always have to do this? Hes a great writer but he always comes on a maninstream title and make some really dumb changes and such. It works out sometimes but hes a really divisive writer when it comes to the mainstream.

Because the editor of the Bat-verse at the time didn't like it. So what?

I don't care if Talia's kid is his, or that it's back in continuity. I just want Selina's baby to be his, too.

When does Morrison's exclusive contract with DC run out?

I never thought Morrison was a good writer either. The Son Of The Demon was the only really son of Batman i accepted really.

personally... i hope they are both his... it could really lend itself to some deep stories and personal conflict for bats that really hasnt been explored... all of a sudden, hes got a family... he has children... and hes been an absentee father... not his fault, but he has... how would he make it up to his son? what kind of example would he try to set for his daughter? how would he handle talia hiding his son from him? how would his son react to his daughter? would he rethink his methods? batman has never been afraid to face death before... but now that he has children, would he want to take those same risks? he knows how it feels to lose a father, would he risk putting them through that? why? or why not? lots of great character development to be had here...

wow, people arent even giving this story a chance, eh? grant morrison is one of the greatest modern combic book scribes....i'd be extremely surprised if this story was anything BUT bad ass! how about we wait and see how it plays out rather than condeming it without reason?
Most people seem to be willing to give it a chance. There's a difference between having some reservations about what sounds like a lame concept and condemning something outright.

You know thats not the real reason.

I don't really see the problem. It's about time Batman was amade a little less gay.

Giving him a son doesnt make him less gay, it just makes him gay with a kid.

That sounds like some nice character progress, but it also sounds like the changing of status quo for one of the Big Three. It'd never last.

But is stops the tabloids from hounding you about it.

Just ask Tom Cruise.

Lawsuits stopped the tabloids from hounding Tom Cruise about his sexuality. Seriously, Cruise sued a magazine.

Having a kid (or 3) didn't stop the tablois from talking about Michael Jackson.

I think that would be very cool and what if they did decide to change things up in one of the big three, they already made him less of a dick. Why not make him have fatherly duties and stigma's more so than he already has with the Bat family. That would be amazing. I'am seriously liking this story just because of the preview i read, because Morrison's Joker was spot on. Just looks to be good.

all that crap sethcoehn has said has already been done with dick, jason, and tim. even with them, batman has never swayed awayfromthe risks ofwearing the costume, he does what needs to be done. Giving himmore kids wont chnage that. and the rest just sounds like garbage, just give him one kid and finish the story right there. no need to intro duce so many characters within the bat family..

What Seth said wasnt crap GAH. Yeah sure some of that stuff was done with Dick,Jason and tim, but they are not his flesh and blood they are partners. With his own ACTUAL son it may be different. At least I think so, it would be interesting.

God, how boring and annying will it be having a son. Bruce they kindapped *****face over here. Again?

How old should his son be, anyway? He couldn't possibly be old enough to don a costume. And as long as we're not Kim Bauer'd every other issue (OMG, Jack. Kim's been kidnapped again!), it could work.
