Pokémon It's the Pokemon thread

Thanks guys. I think I'm gonna go with Giga Drain, Sludge Bomb, Sleep Powder, and probably Dazzling Gleam.

Wish Vileplume could learn a ground or rock move to cover fire types. There are probably better grass types to use, but Vileplume has always been one of my favorite Pokemon.

oddish learns a new move in ORAS which is moonblast, but you need to not evolve oddish for a quite a while as it learns it only as oddish at a high level, my vileplume is as follows

holding big root
hidden ability: effect spore
-giga drain
-sludge bomb
-moon blast
-nature power (or sleep powder is good to)

Vileplum with Moon Blast is pretty cool. No STAB, but that coverage. Tasty.

thats how I look at it, no STAB but fairy moves are great for coverage, very tasty indeed. Dazzling gleam is weaker but it hits more targets, but I went with moonblast just because its a rare move for vileplume that can only be learned if you level up oddish a certain way in ORAS only, then once its evolved to vileplume if its deleted its gone for good, so I like to have those kind of rare elusive moves on my mons

Thrash, Earthquake, Icebeam and either Thunder or Thunderbolt were its moveset.

I decided to do a physical and a special Nidoking

my special attacker has

nature: modest
ability: rivalry
-toxic spikes
-venoshock (STAB, plus 2X damage with toxic spikes poisoning)
-earth power (STAB)
-thunder (coverage against water)

my shiny physical attacker has
nature: adamant
ability: sheer force
-bulldoze (boosted by STAB and sheer force)
-rock slide (boosted by sheer force and coverage against ice)
-megahorn (coverage against psychic)
-poison tail (boosted by STAB and sheer force. Could use a stronger poison move but I like poison tail because its an egg move)

More Pokkén Tournament News Coming On January 23. January 14, 2015 . 11:42pm

Pokkén Tournament has Machamp, Blaziken, and Lucario as confirmed fighters. An arcade release is scheduled for later this year.

We haven’t heard much about Pokkén Tournament, a Pokemon fighting game developed by Bandai Namco and Tekken director Katsuhiro Harada, since the original announcement. That’s going to change on January 23 when Famitsu’s monthly livestream features the title. The show will start at 7 PM Japan time on NicoNico.

Playing a Nuzlocke in Y right now, and I've got more dead than alive. Venusaur is a beast though, he and the Steelix I got for a Luvdisc (which I fortunately was able to catch on Route 8) are the backbone of the team.

I've never done a Nuzlocke, but if I did, I would use a Venusaur.

I rarely used grass types before Black, I usually favor electric to take down water types. But I used a Venusaur I got traded in Black, and it was a freaking tank. I've really come around to grass type since then.

I find Nuzlockes more fun if you have someone to compete with. My brother's doing one alongside me, and we send each other updates every so often. Keeps me honest at least, as it's tempting to cheat at times.

Also, since Squirtle's my favorite starter and Pokémon in general, I haven't used a Bulbasaur in years, but I'm remembering why Bulba's awesome.

I could have probably done a Nuzlocke with the Shiftry I ended up with in OR. Damn thing was a monster.

So I just started getting back into Pokémon with FireRed. My main problem right now though is, does anyone have any idea how to catch Chansey in this game?

you can only get her in the safari zone in fire red from the looks of it, bulbapedia is your friend :)

Some new Pokken info is coming this Friday. Keep your ears to the ground.

All of the rare Safari Zone Pokemon were pains in the ass. Took me ages to get Scyther and Dratini.

Yeah. I wanted my Scyther, badly. You guys ever hook a Dragonair in the Safari Zone?

I hooked one in my original Red game. Was too lazy to evolve it back then though. Sat in my PC.

Well its not the type of event pokemon that we'd like but you can get a Serperior with hidden ability contrary by entering code pokemon497

pokken tournament looks like so much damn fun

I wonder if it should have its own thread now that news and videos are starting to roll in

Pokken Tournament had better come to Wii U. it looks too damn fun to not. I NEED IT NOW!

Considering how dead the Hype is, and how this is a 2015 arcade title (therefore probably a 2016 Wii U title), I don't think it's worth creating one. We already have like dozens of threads zenith starts that no posts in or follows.

That controller is funky as hell. And lol at Pikachu being in the game. I knew they'd have him there no matter what, but it's still weird to me to see him in a traditional fighting game. Feels so out of place.
