I always liked this one too. I love at the begining when he is putting the suit on and he has bandages on under the suit. Very cool. and as for him not being in good shape.
he was played by Clark Bartram

I think he fit the bill.

there ya go. Despite being in shape, he looked bad with the suit on. Its mainly poor material in the suit. Needs better definition.

I think Keaton's pose in B89 sort of tips you off to how incredibly immobile that suit was. To look to the side he has to sort of bend at the waist and twist around. Yeah, it's perfect for standing still and looking imposing, but I remember seeing B89 not too long ago and watching him run and this big rubbery cape flapping around and him sort of stomping forwards. Not to mention every time he got hit in the face or had to move it would all of the sudden bend and twist around his face, folding out so that you could see massive gaps. It looked really, really awful to wear.

I'd say that comparing the way the new DK suit looks and the way the older suits look is sort of like comparing a modern latex condom with a rubber one from 1978. Yeah, maybe it was the first time you used one and so it has a special place in your heart and you like the feel of it for nostalgic purposes, but come on, there's so much more fun to be had!

Also, wow, the abbage looks silly. Them biscuits look like freaking lava formations or something.

Catwoman's claws could pierce through his armor. I wonder what 20 men pointing a gun at him could do while trying to dodge them in such a stiff suit.

Catwoman's claws didnt pierce through his armor. They pierced through a part of his suit that had no armor (it wasnt all armor). She was searching for a spot with no armor and that's where he hit him.

Anyway...I can't decide between the 89 and the Returns suit. Even though I like some of the other options as well.

I think I'll go with the 89 suit:

B89 Suit: Looks like it was just thrown together

Batman Forever: Was crap

Batman and Robin: Nipples, Crome Batman

Batman Begins: He looked Fat and he couldnt hardly move

Who else here saw B89 in the theaters and felt bewildered and betrayed?

Really? Were you?
I was 11. I knew Batman only through the 60's show, and a few comics from the early 80's. It rocked my socks.
Looking back, of course, Burton ruined my childhood by straying from the source material, disrespecting the creators, yada yada yada...

the '89 cowl look like it has a brick under the eyelid material but it was cool at the time.

I saw it in the theater and quite enjoyed it at the time, except for the part about Joker killing Bruce's parents, and the Prince music.

Man, I loved Batman when I was a kid.

Well, to be honest, I loved the first like, twenty minutes or so. Then it got sort of confusing and I wasn't sure what the hell was going on? There didn't seem to be a lot of crimebusting going on and my mind started wandering.

Seriously, I loved it, I just have no definite memories besides the opening scene with the bat logo and then the part where he beats up those thugs.

I'd go with Keaton's suit in Batman 1989, followed by the suit he wears in Batman Returns.

See I love the way this suit looks. I still think it's the most iconic.
