I've been thinking about all the SM3 hate...

I don't agree, Venom was treated different and I liked the way Venom/ Eddie Brock were in SM3, just think he should have a lot more screen time.

Well, what I mean by butchered was that Venom had to ask Sandman for help(which he would never do),never called himself "we," was on screen for only 8 minutes, never had that epic battle with Spider-man;etc. Personally,I like the way Eddie was handled, how he was like,Peter's double and was both slimey and sympathetic. A scene that I would've loved to have seen is Eddie having a landlord like Peter, except he hated Eddie and kicked him out of his apartment when Eddie couldn't make rent and lost his job.

All the hate surrounding this movie ... Well, I can see why some/many people don't like it. That's fine. I personally enjoy the movie, but I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't want to change a few things about it. So yeah, I can understand where people are coming from when they hate on this movie.

The thing that bothers me, though, is that people rag on the first two films now. Back in 2004, many fanboys were ready to kiss Sam Raimi's feet. Now in 2009, many fanboys say that he got Spider-Man all wrong to begin with and that the entire trilogy sucks. To me, that's like saying Superman I and II suck just because III and IV suck ... Or that Batman 1989 sucks just because the other three movies sucked.

What if Nolan's third Batman movie sucks? Will people say that Batman Begins and The Dark Knight suck just because of the third movie? Sounds ludicrous, doesn't it?

I'm well aware that there are plenty of people who don't like the first two Spider-Man movies to begin with, but those people made their decisions about those movies before Spider-Man 3. It's the fickleness among Spidey fandom that has become irksome for me.
Marvel fandom, really. But obviously the studio sees where they were responsible for what went wrong moreso than Raimi, or they'd be going with somebody else now.

Have you seen the comic book "The Black", it explains this.

While i didnt like Venom's screen-time or the fact that he was killed off so definitively in the movie (couldnt you have at least gave him a CHANCE of coming back Sam?), i do still enjoy the movie thoroughly every time I watch it. The good far outweigh's the bad for me, and Spidey 3 is no were near as bad as some people make out. People mentioning it in the same breath as B&R are out of their minds IMO.

Given your avi-which you STILL proudly display-I daresay you tend to disagree with the masses of fanboys quite often.

Exactly, if they had survive they could hear fans reaction to Spider-man 3, they could have fixed later in the series.

Raimi dislikes Venom. Is it really that surprising that he killed him off?

I liked Doc Ock as well and look at him, in Raimi movies, you're bad you're dead.

Then why did Sandman live?

Doc Ock and Green Goblin got a whole movie to themselves. Harry was being developed since the first movie, and got more screen time than Sandman and Venom in SM-3.

Not to mention Doc Ock and Green Goblin, when they died they at least had their bodies intact, and have at least a tinge of hope of returning if Sony wished.

Venom got blown to smithereens. They could have buried him in a thimble. Raimi made his death so final and absolute.

True. But again, since I don't care about Venom I was ok with it.
