We're too used to everything being either a remake or adapation, that's why. But like Inception, hopefully curiosity will get the better of them.

Maaaan after all that hype people were raving about...this trailer was type-average.

I liked the Cloverfield teaser much better, that one actually made you want to seek out what it was, because it was so off-the-wall. This trailer is like something you see as a cliffhanger for a B horror-flick.

i disagree...this trailer was very well shot. every shot is cleverly made and visually stimulating. don't get me wrong, i liked the Cloverfield trailer because it got me interested in the movie, but this one REALLY got me interested. i'm thinking that since this trailer was hyped you were expecting a lot from it. the reason why it worked so well with the people who like the trailer is because no one knew about it when Iron Man 2 was released. it was unexpected.

i think it was hyped because it is a full teaser. a 100% teaser like in the old days. odlschool.

IMO its normal that people dont like it. in this new age we are used to see everything.

i still say dont expect to much from the mosnter or alien. the focus will be on the characters.

I loved the whole mystery. We need more of that these days. Whereas today we see everything in a trailer. This got people interested. With two big names attached and a plot about Area 51 and a Super 8 camera. That's all we really know.

Maybe this is the first encounter with the Cloverfield monster, before it is fully grown in the past.

Great teaser.

Spielberg's done those early teasers before. Remember War of the Worlds.

I remember seeing that War of the Worlds trailer in theaters. That was pretty damn cool.

Abrams has said this has nothing to do with Cloverfield.

It comes off as a Close Encounters and E.T. vibe but with a bad alien, focusing it on kids and the events that occur. A Spielberg-ian idea but with an Abrams twist.

Is anyone ****ing excited as I am for that idea?

I am getting a little unpleased with the teaser. Cloverfields teaser had that shock and awe effect, no one expected anything. Ehll, I bet everyone at the beginning of the teaser thought it was a lame coming of age movie. Then a big roar erupted and a big explosion, it was unexpected. With Super 8's teaser, as soon as "Area 51" popped up, we all knew that SOMETHING would happen.

But bett your ass I'll be their opening night :csad:

JJ said himself Super 8 has NOTHING to do with Cloverfield

Loved the teaser. Doesn't answer a d*mn thing and that's just how I like it. Watching that shipping container being pummeled from the inside got the intensity going.

I liked the teaser, but I agree with you, at least to some extent. We've only seen something burst from behind a sealed door so many times...

Some one should get some direct download links for this trailer.

Trailer was pretty cool.

Triva! : Guy who did the trailer titles also did the titles for Fringe and the credits on Star Trek (Andrew Kramer)

Idk what you clowns are talking about, but that trailer was SICK! Whatever this movie is about, its going to be awesome.. I can tell

Have You Seen This Boy?

It's time to pick a side. You're either going to sit back and enjoy the viral campaign for Super 8, or literally go insane reading about it. J.J. Abrams showed us what he's all about when he virally promoted his giant monster movie Cloverfield, only this time Steven Spielberg and his Amblin Entertainment are joining the party. With the proper teaser arriving online this morning, the viral campaign was put into full effect. How so? Not one, but TWO "things" were discovered hiding within. Read about it below.

Have you seen this boy?

The teaser trailer carried more than an epic train crash sequence. Towards the title card, when the footage drops into the lens, two of the frames display an image of a little boy. Who is this boy and why is he important? Who knows. But the fact that he was included in this teaser means something. I'm sure more will come soon.

But that's not all...

This Super 8 Fansite discovered words hiding wihin the trailer.

"Scariest Thing I Ever Saw"

"And of course the first thing we’re gonna do is punch that into a web browser and get www.scariestthingieversaw.com which seems to have been registered a little over a week after the super8-movie.com website was, and by the same registration company," the site writes.

But there's more. The website leads to some new discoveries. What exactly. "Stop posting publicly. I can answer your questions.

I have proof,
" writes an unknown assailant. But it continues and you can read all about it by clicking here.

Your thoughts?

Apparently this movie is about some kids filming a movie with an 8mm camera in the 50s and while they're looking at their footage they notice they captured an alien on film. The alien came from the train. That's about all the info there is on the movie at this time.
