saw the trailer...and am underwhelmed. The crowd at my packed theater made no reaction at all during and after. I will wait awhile before I get excited about "next summer".

well it is a teaser after all. plus, he has't filmed anything yet besides these scenes (that may be used for the actual movie)

I hope the scene in the trailer is in the movie, it's amazing.

I saw it on the big screen and it left people wondering.

When they showed Spielberg's name, someone thought it was for TF3, up until it said from director JJ Abrams.

And when it got the the last couple seconds and whatever was pounding on the door and it cuts away to the title, some people were mad saying it was a rip off, cause they didn't show it and say that it sucks they have to wait til next summer for it.

Man, ppl have no taste for anticipation, mystery, or suspence.

Well, kinda in their defense, when people see something they know nothing about and it rushes across the screen it might leave them with a angry feeling cause they have no idea what it is and people wanna know what something is when its shown.

I didn't get the trailer with IM2. :csad:

I wasn't underwhelmed at all (because I didn't know really what it was or what to expect). I have noticed a trend now with Cloverfield and now this in terms of viral marketing and this less is more kind of early advertising.

We got both, people made gagging noises after the Twilight trailer though. Me among them.:woot:

Hahaha!

After the Twilight trailer ended when I saw IM2 on Imax, some guy said "finally it will be over". Then some girl said "there's 4", which led him to say "DAMN IT!"

I saw this trailer today on a regular screen showing of IM2 and definitely has me interested, especially when it's created from J.J and Spielberg.

I missed it. I went to the concession stand cause some fat guy literally rubbed his butt all over the lid of my drink as he was sitting down. But because of this I was standing right as the eclipse trailer was ending. So before sitting down i raised up my hand and extended the third finger on it.........And i heard applause. I don't know it was for me or the trailer, but id like to think it was for me.

I remember during the midnight show, there were a bunch of mixed reactions after the Eclipse trailer, particularly one humorous shout-out. I would say what was mentioned, but it's PG-13 level of offensiveness and the SHH apparently can't allow it.

During the last seconds of the trailer, some letters flash through the lens of the film camera.

- “Scariest Thing I Ever Saw”

The website ScariestThingIEverSaw.com was register a little over a week after the film’s official website super8-movie.com, and by the same registration company. The website shows a PDP-11 16-bit microcomputer display

I have proof.

The guys at Super8News noticed the mention of a name “D, Morris” in the green screen terminal and decided to cross reference the name with UFOs and Area 51. This is the information they uncovered:

Dan Morris is a retired Air Force career Master Sergeant who was involved in the extraterrestrial projects for many years. After leaving the Air Force, he was recruited into the super-secret National Reconnaissance Organization, or NRO, during which time he worked specifically on extraterrestrial-connected operations. He had a cosmic top-secret clearance (38 levels above top secret) which, he states, no U.S. president, to his knowledge, has ever held. In his testimony, he talks of assassinations committed by the NSA; he tells how our military deliberately caused the 1947 ET craft crashes near Roswell, and captured one of the ETs, which they kept at Los Alamos for 3 years, until he died. He talks about the intelligence teams that were charged with intimidating, discrediting, and even eliminating witnesses to ET/UFO events. He talks about Germany’s re-engineering of UFOs, even prior to WWII. He talks about our current energy crisis — and the fact that we haven’t needed fossil fuels since the 1940s, when free energy technologies were developed — but have been kept from humanity. This is the real reason for the secrecy of the ET/UFO subject. “What the people in power right now don’t want us to know is that this free energy is available to everybody.” In conclusion, he warns against the weaponization of space and the shooting down of ET craft — this could force them to retaliate, and that would be our destruction.

Also of interest is this screen grab from Carlton Halpert, which he took right before the letters zoom by the camera lens at the end of the trailer:

I thought Cloverfield was sick. That bit where one of the girls exploded :wow:

Yeah I loved Cloverfield, but if someone didnt like it so what? they are entitled to their own opinion

It was good and not the least bit nauseating. It's just the goddamn ending with Hudd.

Yeah, there's this giant monster staring up at me and I should just stay here and film it instead of running away!

He was frozen in shock and didn't know what to do. It's no different than when someone encounters a bear or any other wild animal in real life. You just have no idea what that animal is going to do; will it attack if I stay put, or will it attack if I make a run for it?
The monster was huge, running away would have done nothing to save him, and as we can see, staying put didn't save him either. The monster was going to attack regardless, Hudd was screwed either way.
