Well Latinoreview has an interesting article up about the supposed mystery, and it seems kind of substantial. It pretty much boils down to the secret being a living cube of some sort. U guys should check it out. Personally if this is the case then Im done with this flick and I havent even seen it yet.

I just hope that there is more to it than that, but the viral video and the trailer both have blatent evidence that this thing plays a pivotal role in the film. Obviously the relationship between the boy and his father is going to be the emotional crutch for the film I just want the mystery that unravels to be something exciting and not an object.

the reason i think it was teh cube coming out of the train is because in the trailer it makes a hole through the wall.

we saw the hands with the claw in the trailer. but i dont think it will be important to the movie.

Hope not, but a cube would make for some funny ass memes.

And there was a shadow of something large(that broke the truck windshield). It isn't a mere cube...though that little object could contribute to the story and the alien.
I doubt a cube would bust out of a train like it does in the trailer. The impacts made to escape were too large for a tiny cube.

I think the cube could either be a mcguffin or something the kids find near the beginning of the film. Perhaps during the train crash. Or they somehow sneak into the wreckage when the army is doing their **** or at night and come across it. It doesn't do anything until it comes to life, maybe even in that scene we saw in the trailer. It definitely has something to do with the things. I don't think that's the main thing. It could be a key to something though.

Yeah but there is all kinds of floating objects at one point in the trailer, the thing obviously would have some kind of telekinetic abilities. There had better be some kind of creature tho or im gonna be pissed!

I don't think Abrams would do something like that. It's just a tease. So much is mysterious at this point. Even with this trailer, we still don't know much about this.

The cube (or whatever it is) may play an important role in the story but I don't think that there won't be an alien/creature. Iam sure that whatever drags that guy away in the trailer, its not a cube.
