Its true, we don't know if the story is good, in fact we know very little. its intreuging, thats exactly why people are excited. And I wouldn't say Abrams doesn't have a style, its true he has a lot of lense flairs but his stuff is always slick, it always has a certain vibe visually. Now as far as the way his stories feel, the vibes you get from characterization and such, I agree he hasn't quite carved out his own niche. Super 8 definitely does have an old-school Spielberg vibe, but thats exactly why I'm excited for it. Spielberg himself doesn't make those kinds of films anymore it seems. Now we dont know yet how super 8 will turn out, but so far I remain excited.
