J.R. Ramirez To Play Wildcat On ‘Arrow’ Season 3
In Arrow, Grant will be a former boxer who now runs a gym for underprivileged youth. A man with a mysterious past, he will play a pivotal role in Laurel Lance’s arc this season. Wildcat is one of two major DC comic book characters to be added to Arrow this coming seaso, along with villain Ra’s al Ghul. This marks Ramirez’s return to the CW where he recurred on Emily Owens, MD. The actor, repped by Mavrick Artists and manager Marie Matthews, has been recurring on Starz’s drama Power.

Don't know him. But based on Ted Grant this is a terrible casting decision.

Certainly, I'd prefer a more traditional (older) Wildcat, but I'm willing to give him a chance.

Wish he was older, I was hoping he would have been a family friend from Momma Dinahs side. But oh well. Now I wouldn't be surprised if it turns into a flirty sexual tension thing.

Guess that guy who said they'd cast a younger actor was right. I don't think they'd go for someone in his age group unless they were planning on implying romantic chemistry/sexual tension between him and Laurel, so it looks like he was right about that as well. Kind of a bummer, but I'll get used to it.

yeah I'll learn to live with it but I was really hoping for that whole mentor/dad#2 angle to happen. Maybe they will surprise us and wont make it romantic.

He is younger than I was expecting. But you don't have to be an older guy to be a highly skilled boxer, so it's really not that big a deal to me. Besides, everyone has been cast younger than their comic book counterparts on this show.

To be honest... Laurel needs a love interest that's not a supervillain. Good call. If the show had more time I think Grant would have been the ol gym boss and Laurel could have fallen in with a fellow student, this is more streamlined.

Because he is a bit young and potential Laurel LI? I think they will make him a bit older close to the age 40.

Making him a bit younger is okay, but they're like the same age. I was hoping for some what of an age difference. Oh well, not a big deal I guess.

Of course they make him young and sexy.

J.R. Ramirez...........

Aaaand we have our love interest for Laurel. *sigh*

and we can't assume he be a love interest just because he is a young version of Wildcat.....there has no evidence that he will be Laurel "Love interest"

Do you know what network this show is on? He is a love interest.

very small chance Ted Grant could be married......that would certainly squarish any love interest scene at all. it been suggested on a different site that they meet during an AA meeting being mentor/sponsor relationship

Actually I think it has been rumored he will be a love interest since before comic con when it was announced Wildcat would be on the show...

Why does anyone care about his age or his being a love interest exactly? You realize more people watch the show than probably ever read JSA right? Do you think 99% of the audience cares who Ted Grant is or have any idea of his back story?

And the knee-jerk pessimism/moaning begins. Never change comics fans, never change.

....So will Ted Grant be white or Hispanic?
