It shouldn't, because they offered an in-universe explanation for her departure (which is more than can be said for some series [hello, The Finder).
Offering an in-universe justification doesn't necessarily fix things. Telling a story long-form is all about building up a rhythm and familiarity with the audience. In-universe justification or no, throwing that off early on might hinder people's ability to get into the show.
Disclaimer: I'm not saying or even really thinking that is going to happen, nor am I saying that there is currently a problem to be fixed. Depending on how episode 2 turns out, the transition may feel as smooth as silk. It was just one minor potential concern that popped into my head.
