I once heard it said that when Stan Lee came up with the idea for Spiderman, he chose Jack to draw it. When Jack Kirby came back with his design for Spiderman and Stan disapproved, he gave the assignment to Steve Ditko.

Now, my question is: what did Jack Kirby's Spidey look like? was an image of it ever published?

I'll bet it was amazing. Do you know where I can find one?

It looked like a cheap Flash Gordon knock-off with a web-pistol IIRC properly.

No, Kirby deserves little to no credit. Spider-Man is more than a name. Steve Ditko made Spider-Man who he REALLY is... a gangly, alienated loner with a slightly creepy, unsettling Spider motif who will sneak up on you from the shadows and take out the bad guys one by one.

I'm not saying that Kirby had anything to do with Spidey... I just want to see an image. Is there a link?
