I just think that as much as Tim Story likes to do his research on the Fantastic Four, and his love for this movie, I would think that he would pay homage to it's creators... Jack Kirby and Stan Lee. The Surfer was originally known for having the Kirby Crackle when using his powers, and seeing that this is his first appearance in a movie ever, it would seem appropriate for him to have it.

What do you think?

Of course the Surfer should have Kirby Cosmic Energy every time he uses his powers!

I'm going to go on the assumption, that the artwork showed it in the comics, and therefore...sure something along the lines of what they did to the 4 when the cosmic cloud hit them......

The Empire Magazine Cover showed the Surfer with alittle Kirby Crackle.

Personaly I see no evidence that " Tim story likes to do research on the FF, and his love for this movie", so in that sense I does not surprise me that there would be no Kirby crackle.

He should, but that can be a visual division between this Surfer and a Surfer with the larger freedom of a wider vision *hint, hint*.

O really? Then you would be surprised to know that the name of the town that Doom wakes up in is called
Hassenstadt, Latveria, which is of course the name before it became Doomstadt during his reign.
What do you say to that?

I don't know what he'd say but I'd say "Don Payne was the one who wrote the screenplay, not Tim Story."

Geez, I just checked out the other thread about Galactus so I am not surprised by anything he says...

Give him time, he'll think of something, and start an entire debate full of 3,000 word essays on the subject.......

Would it be possible for you to post that article/link/picture?

There ya go

And, Kirby Crackle stays crunchy in milk! :woot:

I always preferred a white crackle to the Power Cosmic. It makes it look like the character is holding a livewire, coursing with energy. From what I've seen the approach to the movie Surfer is more of a flowery blue aura. I won't bash on it, though- it blends in well.

The “Kirby Crackle” is the bubbly dark matter encircling each character. It is the signature power source that Jack Kirby created for these characters back then.

So let me get this straight, Story misses the origin of the character, the attitude of the character, the powers of the character, the look of the character, the essence of the character but because he got the name of a town right you give him credit as a thourough researcher?:whatever:

Horatio old buddy good to see you. I hope you have survived the Galactus Storm revelation.

And Payne said that the script for Doom from the first movie made a mess of the origin of Doom.

Aparently they are moving the character to true Doom bit by bit.

Guess we will see how much on Friday and hopefully in a sequel.

Nope, just proving that when you speak in absolutes you leave yourself open. You said there was "no evidence":woot:

According to his latest interview with SHH, he pats himself on the back for viewing the opinions of fans in this forum. But at the same time, he follows his own agenda when it comes to doing these movies... A little contradictory if you ask me.

Hey highguard. Yeah I guess we will see. Since it's coming tomorrow I will refrain from making any other comments until I see the movie.

I saw the movie last night.

Does anyone have any questions about Doom?

I stand by that statement. if you were a proffesor who assigned a student to represent Michael Jordan in a play, and the student hired a white actor, who is 7' tall, plays Baseball, out of NY city, but played college ball in North Carolina, would you give him any credit for having done research on Michael Jordan?
There are many ways to come by information other than doing "research". the key word is "research".
and if I was speaking in absolute terms as you claim I would have said (Story obviously did NO research for Dr. Doom).
Instead I said "there is no evidence that he did any research". Getting an obscure fact correct is not evidence of "research" (especially in light of missing so many obvious and well known facts.
:p
