Yeah, true. Although some blamed the title "Knight and Day" for that films underwhelming opening (even though it actually did end up grossing enough to be considered a hit).

I think they're overestimating how many people know who Jack Reacher is, but I guess it doesn't really matter. One Shot isn't the greatest title either, to be honest.

And at least Jack Reacher is a more interesting sounding name than say, Bob Smith or John Carter. Man, I wonder if a studio would ever be stupid enough to give a big budget action movie a name as dull as that.

I still think it should have been called 'Jack Reacher: One Shot'

I cant wait for this movie I love the books and Cruise may not be what Reacher looks like in the books but I think he will bring it either way.

Its intersting Jack Reacher and Alex Cross both best selling book getting movies with leads that are questionable choices.

agreed if this becomes a franchise the book names should be in the title.jack reacher doesnt have the ring to it like jason bourne.or i would have gone with "reacher;oneshot' i think they want his name in the title because they think people wont know who he is if it was just one shot.

Yes his hight is apart of it. More to it though, but Tom is nowhere near as imposing, intimidating or physically dominant as the character.

Only way Tom walks into a room and he's the biggest, baddest, scariest guy in there is if he walks into the cottage of the 7 Dwarfs.

Both Dolph and Sean Bean are available. Have the light colored hair, are pretty big dudes, and can pass for a retired military police.

I hear what you are saying about acting and emoting and all that. Jack Reacher crushed a dude's skull in his hand, gets hit by vehicles, was in a pretty massive explosion that destroyed and old army base. He's the terminator/Kurt Russel in Soldier, just unstoppable.

The3 only thing I can see Tom and Jack having in common is that they booth can't run. Jack because he's big and Tom because he runs like a girl. lol.

It's not just the height, Reacher is an unstoppable force when he gets going, something I can't even imagine Cruise being able to pull off.

It's quite simple really, the character that Cruise is playing is simply not the guy from the books, therein lies the issue fan have with his casting.

Yes, maybe you should start reading. Some cool books. He's not the guy and he's about a foot and a half too short, 100 pounds too light and doesn't even look like the guy.

It may be a cool movie, but I can wait for this

for free on tv rather than pay and be let down.

Oh, and yes I prefer Dolph to Tom. That's a silly question. And its not just that Dolph. And I are apart of the same Karate organization (Kyokushin, IKO1).
