No, it doesn't.

It's a very well made, very viable look into the psychological underpinnings of the Joker.

And considering the fact that Aaron was 18 when he shot the film...It's incredibly impressive.

It's impressive for a fan film, but to call it good, or even decent is a ridiculous long shot. The entire thing reaks of amateurism. An A+ for effort and comic accuracy, an F for film capability.

I hate the fact that prior to Heath's casting and performance people weren't dumping on Nicholson nearly as much.

Now that it's imminent that Ledger's portrayal will be stunning, which I'm not denying, people are pissing all over what Jack did in '89.

It's like all of the Nicholson nay-sayers kept their nay-saying in hushed tones for years. Now with Ledger set up, they all got behind his performance to feel protected from Jack and started nay-saying louder and more often.

I for one appreciate both of them for taking on different aspects of the character. Jack was clearly the more comedic angle while Heath is obviously the visious maniac.

However BOTH, when it comes down to it, represent the Joker IMO.

I like both, although I haven't seen TDK yet so I can't really vote yet.

Where is Cesar Romero? There was more than just Heath and Jack as Live Action Joker's :)

I really don't see how you can compare the two. They are completely different takes on the character and should both be appreciated in their own right.

I guess I'm getting tired of the pointless "Jack's Joker is better than Heath's Joker" and vice versa. If they were similar takes on the character then yeah, compare all you want. The point remains that they are completely different.

Again, I'm asking only for a visual opinion, not acting. We've seen enough pics, trailers, and clips to definately realize what Heath's make-up and costuming shall look like. We've already witnessed Nicholson's complete performance concerning The Joker. So only to be fair to Heath, that's why I decided to go with appearance only at this point. So far I'm really impressed and intrigued with some of the individual opinions coming out of this thread I've started. Again, I purposely added a poll consisting of Jack or Heath/ Jack or Heath as a goof, thinking to add something a little insane "ala" Joker. No regrets. I really got a charge out of it. Personally, I've been a really big Joker fan all my life. I've enjoyed the different incarnations of the character. (*including Romero and Hamill*) Beyond the Batman films in question, I'm still intrigued with the original inspiration for The Joker. That is, "The Man Who Laughs" starring Conrad Veidt from 1928. I have a small gallery of Joker memorabilia and original art in my home. Amongst some of these items is an original painting of Veidt from this film. Although the film is quite old, everytime I look upon Veidt in this incredible make-up, I see the best Joker of all time. (*as a side note, for any film historians out there, Lon Chaney Sr. was the original actor who was considered for Veidt's role*) Anyway, no matter how you slice it, The Joker is (*and always will be*) one of the greatest comic villians of all-time.

i know this i only about LOOKS, but for me, i mean in general, you dont get any better then jacks joker. he was just such a fun, awsome, livley, interesting character, andf jack made him that way. very flamboyant, an artist, and still darkly funny. heath ledger looks like hes gonna be a piece of work too, but i just dont think he'll be better then nicholson.

looks wise, jack wins, hands down. i just am not liking the fleshy colors on heaths neck and face, and when he looks all washed up (lol) with the paint almost all coming off, it makes him look so un-jokerish. jack looked like that once, and painted his face flash colored alot, but we all knew he was really joker looking underneath all that.

put it this way,,, u get the screencap of joker saying i dont want to kill you from the tv spot 12 and compare it to nicholsons and heath wins in so many ways its not funny

Hey, no disrespect to Mr. Romero. I've always been a fan of his Joker as well. I figured I'd narrow it down to just the "two" big-budget Batman film Jokers. You just gotta love Cesar Romero though, mustache and all.

Because even though you put the keywords "Live Action" in there, if you put Romero in here it wouldn't take more than 30 seconds for some fruitloops to go off on a "WELL, WHY NOT HAMILL?!" tangent.

In respect to both looks, Jacks Joker was more of the flamboyant, pranking, joke-cracking clown, while Heath's is more psychotic and serial-killerish.

As far as my preference goes, I pick Heath. It's a fairly unique take on his look.

There was a few times in '89 that the Joker looked more than just 'Jack in make-up'(the 'wait until they get a load of me' scene).

Otherwise, when I see Heath's Joker, I see the Joker. I never see Heath, I see the Joker. Therefore, Heath's Joker wins.

But let's be honest, in a battle, Heath's Joker would skin Jack's Joker.

Well...if that's the case then Nicholson gets my vote.

Heath.

Jack just looked like a clown. Heath looks like a dude you wouldn't want to mess with.

they were both deadly, except jacks joker was a bit older, and looked like the clownish joker from the comic books. heaths joker, looks like joker done on acid. which is great and all, but its not exactly what i would call "classic" joker from the comics. jacks joker was classic joker.

Despite the fatness, Jack's Jocka was spot on - visually wise.

Heath's...Not so much. But I think he looks extremely good in some pics, and not so good in others. I will vote after I see the film, however, as seeing the Batsuit in action in BB made me love the suit. I think that makes sense....?

No matter what Im always going to love both interpretations equally, if you think of it logically all of the Nicholson haters sound pretty ignorant. If we never got Jack's over the top performance in 1989 we probably wouldnt be getting the maniacal murdering clown Heath is portraying in TDK.
