I am very excited. This is happening!

doesnt the title always leak a few days before that announcement because the domain has to be reserved ?

There are always title rumours before the actual announcement. But how long exactly was it before the press conference that Skyfall leaked as a title?

Really EON and Sony ought to reserve several title domain names to throw people off. It can't cost them very much.

skyfall was at least a couple of days before.. michael g. wilson even joked at the beginning: "the worst kept secret .."

HAIL SPECTRE!!!

IF Spectre is returning in 24, personally, I'm not against changing their octopus logo, now that Hydra is everywhere

This is from an interview Daniel Craig did in October 2012 with the Bond website mi6.co.uk:

Where does Bond go from here?

Who knows? I think we set a good tone, I think we set a real tone, but I am happy for ****ing exploding volcano lairs. Obviously I am joking but what I love and what I really wanted to achieve with Skyfall was a level of fantasy, it's one of the less violent ones, there's less blood, and people aren't dying in a horrible way, and it feels like much more of a family movie, and they should be family movies. I don't want to go ludicrous and we've got to keep them in reality, but Christ almighty, the world's ****ing weird and there's plenty we can start mining and taking out. If Blofeld turned up again, it wouldn't be a bad thing.

It is nice to see Bond really matter again.

We live in a world of ISIS, Wikileaks, the Koch Brothers and Amazon.com's robot fulfillment centre. Blofeld and his volcano lair doesn't seem too farfetched anymore.

I don't think it's that cavernous lairs are far fetched, so much as cliched. There should be some differentiation from what went before.

We haven't seen a cavernous lair since the 1960s though. Skyfall had some cliched elements but these were welcomed. Quantum of Solace, on the other hand, tried to ditch everything that made it a Bond film, and that ended up so bland and forgettable.

It had the Island lair and a plausible explanation for Silva obtaining it.

One could probably be given to Blofeld's volcano...I think :hmm

I think the juxtaposition of Craig's Bond in a more fantastical movie like the later Connery films or the Roger Moore ones would be pretty cool actually.

embrace the cliché!

and I don't think QOS ditched them all, but those they used were poorly done. I really grow tired of 20 exotic locations in less than 40 minutes of film. Stick to a maximum of three, preferable stick to one per movie. It's not like Bond went from England to Peru, Swiss, Algeria, Korea, Alaska, back to Algeria, Norway and Argentina before he went to Jamaica in Dr. No. Less is sometimes more.

Am i the only one who is sad, that they did not split this movie in 2 parts (as they wanted to do so - for releases in 2014 and 2015)?

As this was the original plan, i expect something big - Blofeld!!
I like to see him... but i am eager to see, how they will deal with Blofeld in the movies thereafter. With a two parter, they could kill off Blofeld after part 1, and bringing him back in part 2 - i would have loved this idea :)

Now, it is a little bit more difficult, as Blofeld will surley "die" at the end, but i do not think, that they can bring him back for Bond 25 - would be to quick and would get a touch, what does not work nowadays!

Do you think that Waltz might not be Blofeld but Largo instead? Largo after all was played by another Austrian actor, Brandauer, in NSNA.

Emilio Largo is written as a stereotypical oily Italian vulgarian. I don't think that character as written can meaningfully survive a change of nationality, without being "ELINO" or whatever.

If Waltz is indeed Blofeld, I really hope that it's not a fake-out red herring name reveal like Khan in "Star Trek Into Darkness". No need to tiptoe around it.

Also, Largo along with pretty much every other Bond villain from the novels/early films is story specific. As you mentioned, Largo's whole being is as the Italian vulgarian, whose weakness for women Bond exploits through Domino. The only villain who transcends that story-specificity and is an independent recurring character who can be transposed from story to story like M, Moneypenny, Q, Tanner, etc. is Blofeld.

He's going by an alias according to rumours.
