James Bond 24 - Part 3

I'm hoping his character isn't defeated by Bond in combat by pure physical force. For the audience and Bond to be all 'OMG' at the prospect of facing this guy, and the final victory being one of improvised luck ala Oddjob's electrocution.

I agree. Bond needs to not be able to defeat Bautista physically. He needs to be creative and use his wits to defeat him. I find that's the best way that Bond triumphs over his enemies anyway, whether it's cleverly using a gadget in a way that Q never quite intended or using whatever he finds around at the time.

I can't even hate man, wresters are basically doing a version of Shakespeare every week on WWE anyway. It involves bashing people with chairs, but still.

Well it's not like Bond films haven't hired inexperienced actors to play henchmen before. It's kind of an established trope at this point.

Yeah, but wrestlers still have a stigma, even after the Rock. Johnson is the only one so far to actually nab major dramatic and somewhat indie niche roles as opposed to just all action and comedy.

Bautista still getting stick because he was a wrester? I think he's shown enough in the movies that he's been in to earn a bit of respite, surely?

I feel like Rowdy Roddy Piper is pretty respected as an actor as well.

What kind of scenes are they?

The casting for the Craig era Bond has been for the most part, fantastic.

Bautista must be on cloud nine right now, from GOTG to the legendary Bond franchise. Loving all the casting news so far!

Yeah, it's pretty much an honor to be cast in one of these things, as it's like one of the few franchises that hasn't just up and died after decades.

As long as Bautista doesn't wear skinny jeans in the movie I'm happy

The Rock's dad played a Bond villain. Papa Johnson kicked Sean Connery's ass.

Hey now, Samoans haven't wed their daughters since ancient times.

Batista has somewhat of a reputation as a ladies man, although I am certain he'll be on his best behavior as he was in Guardians.

Batista stole the show for me in Man with the Iron fists and he didn't have any lines. then I really liked him as Drax. He's perfect for these type of roles.

I think we need an action movie with The Rock, Batista, Stone Cold in it lol

I doubt Lea and Barbara Brocolli will be able to resist the Animal. Rachel Weisz too. Watch out Craig.

Oh yeah. Forgot about her.

Wait, isn't Saldana pregnant? Did Dave walk alone inside her pit of danger?

So Bautista is onboard. I can just imagine a scene like this now:

Drax picks up a beaten and bloodied Daniel Craig by the collar. YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BE MY FRIEND!!!

The Rock's dad played a Bond villain. Papa Johnson kicked Sean Connery's ass.

Grandfather. :oldrazz:

Is Bautista the most well known or prolific henchman to be cast so far? I don't think Richard Kiel or Oddjob were that well known before getting their roles. Bautista has already been in quite a few movies, one of which was a huge success this year.

At least it's not a henchman like Robert Carlysle, who was already a tiny little thing and yet Pierce Brosnan seemed to be having such trouble with him.
