Well, here we go; don't click it if you don't want to know potential villain spoilers....

Waltz is playing a character named Franz Oberhauser, son of the late Hans Oberhauser, a ski instructor who acted as a father figure to Bond. But the character is a double bluff and in reality is Ernst Stavro Blofeld.

Grain of salt for now but if it winds up being true..... :wow:

Oh boy, this is starting to feel like the [blackout]Khan[/blackout] situation all over again.

That said, can't wait! :D

The ski instructor element sounds like that one short story in Octopussy and the Living Daylights.

wow!

I don't have any issue with them brining back that character in the rebooted series. Although I'm not really inclined to believe the rumour. It doesn't come from Baz. Hopefully the first week of December press conference is true, though.

Until a white cat is cast in the movie, I'll believe nothing :o

I want Blofeld to still be bald, but that doesn't have to automatically equate to Dr Evil. People didn't think of him when seeing the likes of Professor X, Obadiah Stane, Walter White etc.

But Dr. Evil was a direct parody of Blofeld and everybody will think of that still.

I don't think it'll have much effect on Blofeld though. They could make it closer to the book by having him with hair.

Yeah, Blofeld is widely considered to be bald because of Donald Pleasance, but Charles Gray had a good head of hair.

Max Von Sydow had hair too, but then again Savalas was bald...

Completely forgot about NSNA, which is probably wise.

Blend between the two...He's got very short styled hair or is going bald.

Regular hair only, please. Any kind of even small callback to campy Blofeld doesn't fit with Craig's 007.

But Charles Gray sucked as Blofeld. He looked like an angry neighbor who would throw a tantrum when he sees dog poop on his yard.

Gray at least resembled Blofeld in some capacity :p

Yep, there is nothing in the core of the character requiring him to be bald. Fleming never portrayed him as such. He also was not bald in the FRWL or TB films. I don't even recall him having the cat in the books. Time to give us Fleming's Blofeld.

White hair...white suit....keyboard necktie, one gold tooth in the front, a handlebar moustache and he's golden ;)
