James Bond 24 - Part 3

I think "All the Time in the World" would be a great Bond title... reference of course to Tracy's tombstone.

I don't know. It sounds more like a Lifetime movie to me. I don't think it has quite the same ring as "The World is Not Enough" which also came from OHMSS, which is where "All the Time in the World" also originally came from.

Not every chapter title of Fleming's was good. Even some of the remaining names "The Property of a Lady", "The Hildebrand Rarity" and "Risico" are quite as good as the ones already used.

Never understood the confusion with Quantum of Solace's title.

Quantum means a small amount. Solace is relief from grief. Bond is in grief over Vesper. The film's plot and his arc in the film is him trying to find some small relief from his grief. It's one of the most literal titles in the franchise. It also references the evil organization in the film. Haters be damned, it's one of my favorite titles in the franchise.
It fits well with the others. QOS has a mystery, as well as typical Bondian film title, element to it.

The titles are also usually associated with very powerful imagery - life, death, love, money, power, time, elements of nature, body parts etc. There are several precious metals/ jewels, and also several military/espionage allusions

Dr No - might actually be the blandest title, but it's the first.
FRWL - Not only is it a way of signing off a postcard, but it has love, and Russia is a powerful image as well.
Goldfinger - gold in the title - a precious metal/ body part
Thunderball - powerful weather element
YOLT - play on a common saying and also has love in the title
OHMSS - military/ espionage link - usually it's just On her Majesty's service
DAF - both a precious stone and a time element
LALD - play on popular saying, plus has both live and die in it
TMWTGG - precious metal again
TSWLM - espionage/ love imagery
Moonraker - element of nature
FYEO - military usage/ body part
Octopussy - imagery of both an octopus and woman's genitalia
Never Say Never Again - not an official Bond but still a Bondian sounding title - play on a common phrase and also has an absolute
AVTAK - kill/ death in the title
TLD - life/ time element
LTK - Kill and military usage
Goldeneye - precious metal/ body part
TND - Time element, an absolute (never) and death in the title
TWINE - World is a powerful image - world domination
DAD - Death in title / play on popular phrase
Casino Royale - imagery of gambling/ money etc
Quantum of Solace - this has most people baffled
Skyfall - apocalyptic imagery/ nature element
From my point of view, not used titles by Fleming could be used in the same way: Risico, Hildebrand Rarity and Property of a Lady.
I also see Shatterhand as something that could work. It's Blofeld's codename and as we know, the villain is rumoured to return.

Zzzzz. Don't want Swank in this movie. I think they should stay away from American Bond girls and stick with the European ones or from other countries other than the US.

I'm surprised we've not had an Australian or New Zealander Bond girl all this time.

Hilary Swank is a great actress, and falls far from the tree of the generic Bond girl. I suspect that, if she does end up cast in this film, it will be in a different sort of role.

Producer #1: "So, let's see just how many Oscar winners & nominees that we can fit into our Bond films. We had Bardem, Feinnes, Dench, and Finney in the last one."

Producer #2: "Well we've got Feinnes back, and Christoph Waltz, anyone else? What's Hilary Swank doing these days? We should give her a call."

Just "Spectre?" Kinda underwhelming.

Or is that a joke?

Hilarious...

Have you guys read the last offical Bond novel called Devil May Care by Sebastian Faulks?

That's a great title by the way for a future installment.

Yes, and I thought it was great. We didn't used to be able to say so during the ChickenScratch terror, however.

Sorry meant to put the last one I read.:funny:

But yeah it's a very good story and I wouldn't mind if they adapted that storyline for a future installment.
