There is a 3 Hour Cut ? So I guess before the Sequel we will get the 6 hour or so cut Sam mentioned he saw :o

I doubt it, why spend the money to finish deleted scenes when you can use the money to make a new one.

this is how hte 40 minute deleted scenes will look. better then just greenscreen.

Yeah, thats the Template CG.

Cameron said it looked like a cheap early 90s video game.

But looks more like its from a Ps2 game to me :awesome:

Either way, its pretty cool that we will see the CG elements in them, even if they are incomplete

I bet those unfinished CGI is nothing to the James Cameron's animators anyway

how many other times do you think this will be released on home video again

Obviously one more time 3D

But how many 3D releases? Maybe 2? First for theatrical cut and second for extended edition cut

The 3D release will probably be 3D only, with no special features.

I don't see why people are complaining about the lack of 3D. I doubt 99% of the people who bit** about it are even capable of watching 3D blu-rays. Releasing the 3D later just makes sense when taking into account the current size of the home market. There's no point to including it in the Collectors Edition, and itd actually piss me off since

a) The movie would be split accross two discs. No thanks.
b) it would drive the price up, without a doubt.

3D now will be too expensive for the average joe to pick up... and everyone will think its stupid so no point releasing it in 3D now.

Since the new Extended Cut will be close to 8 minutes longer than the special edition, that means there will be more new scenes aside from the Earth opening (which is about 4 minutes and a half according to Cameron).

The one scene that I think is most likely to end up in this Extended Cut is the scene where after Jake and the Na'vi go on the hunt (added to the special edition), they have a sort of festival afterwards. The characters basically eat, drink, dance, have fun and connect with each other etc. It was one of my favorite scenes from the script that was cut, and I think its the one that would most logically be reinserted, since it plays off of scenes already added. Aside from that, there could maybe be a few more extended scenes as well, depending on how long that scene I described is (id say around 2 to 2:30 min).

This is all just my speculation though.

Definately getting this now, the trailers sold me I cant wait to see the new footage and i'm glad its over 8 mins longer as I probably wouldnt have bought it otherwise.

But with a longer cut, would the quality of the picture be not as good as the original release?

^I doubt it, that was just an excuse last time, Blu-rays can fit loads on so the picture shouldnt be effected.

Hmm... I'm sure those guys at DVD beaver will do a comparison or something.

Creepy you mean...

Too bad the oscars dont include animated faces for best actor even tho the expression still from the actor

James Cameron picked up the Best Director award at the Scream Awards

Sigourney Weaver also got the Scream Heroine award. Presented by Cameron, who called her the "Queen of Sci-Fi" :woot:

They also played a World Premiere clip from the Avatar extended edition

OMG they used a CGI body for Jake and used hes real head to match with the CGI neytiri and the live action set. now it makes sense.it makes sense because there is no way to match the live action body with a CGI neytiri and have all shadows and occlusion perfect.

:wow:

That has to be one of the most impressive special effects shot of all time imo. It was like they were both really there, touching each other. To see how it was made is even more mindblowing, they weren't even together in the scene, but it felt like they were.
