James Wong Talks Dragonball!

Man, I didn't realize FOX is so much hated. And who is this Stephen Chow?

Stephen Chow directed films like Kung Fu Hustle and Shaolin Soccor. He's a very good director and is able to make funny yet awesome martial arts movies.

he doesnt make ''amarican'' type movie. and yet a lot of people love hes movies.

that says something about him as a director. he would be the perfect choice.

nwo comes the worst part. IF FOX WOULD SPEND 150 MILLIONS ON THIS MOVIE I WOULD UNDERSTAND THAT THEY DONT WANT CHOW TO DIRECT. because Chow would never make a movie that would be for the masses. and never for american people.
now that we see that its a more low budget compared to blockbusters and that FOX doesnt even care its more sad that they didnt let Chow make an artistic DB movie.

I wholeheartedly agree.

I'm willing to bet if Fox would have given Stephen Chow a $45 million dollar budget, creative control, and allow him to make the film as long as he deemed appropriate, (pretty much full creative control) and also giving Stephen Chow time to write an entirely new script (Chow is a far better writer than Ramsey), essentially starting from scratch, It would have been a far better film (and I mean tenfold better) than Dragonball: Evolution.

I have to say, I really got a little angry reading how they treated Chow. You have the guy perfect for the job, you have a relatively low budget so you can afford to take the risk, especially seeing as they didn't give a rat's ass about the movie. Yet he gets ignored throughout.

Instead they let the guy direct who wants to spice fighting scenes up with hip hop moves.

i guess its true.
we live in a world where DUMB people can do what they want.

This clip from "Kung Fu Hustle" directed by Stephen Chow (he also stars) is way better than any fight scene shown in DB:E. Thanks to Solar Tiger for the video. Keep in mind that Kung Fu Hustle only cost 20 million to make in comparison to 45 million dollars that went into DB:E. So there is simply no excuse for the fights being so pathetically sloppy and bad in DB:E.

Kung Fu Hustle fight scene

I'm sure if Chow would have been given full creative control he would have made a far better movie.

Not only that but Kung Fu Hustle has that eastern sense of humour often found in Dragonball and I gurantee if Chow was responsible for this film we would have had some awesome action scenes as well as a kid Goku.

Oh most definitely. That fight alone was more enjoyable than all of DB:E.
