for the lighting and as a base. Ive got Matthew Mcconaughey under the
cowl as Cap-

That's because it's easy! All the work is cut out for them, it's just coloring! They have a image of a man in a suit and mask, and all they have to do is re-color it to fit Caps colors and add a sheild. Really cheap...

Although, not quite as cheap as the person who took the image of Duke from the upcoming G.I. Joe movie, and just changed the colors of his suit and added a star on his chest... At least the people using the DareDevil image TRIED to make it resemble Cap.

I have no problem with people doing these for fun, but what kills me is the positive comments... As if talent was involved in the making of said images. The only logical comment for those pictures would be: "Nice coloring job"

That's like saying Alex Ross has no talent because he uses models and pictures as the base for his art. It's not like anyones tracing. There have been several hand drawn pics in here which have been nicely done, and better than anything I can do myself. (Plus I like the manips as well)

Ok back on topic I saw the most incredible Cap movie art on another site by another artist and i'm not entering it IT'S NOT MINE but I had to post it here so forgive me.

Actually, there's nothing wrong with artists using reference, because almost all that know what their doing do, but there are some here that simply trace and cut'n'paste. Not that it's particularly wrong for this board, because this is just simple fan art fun (pull those reigns back, Sethums ;p), but to say no one's tracing....that's just denial. Just recoloring an image qualifies as tracing in my book.

I was watching the first season of It's Always Sunny in Phillidelphia (I watched season 4, now catching up, love this show heh), and decided to try it again.

I'm lousy at drawing buildings, so he's just leaning against thin air I guess heh.

Heh, no. I say heh, because It's Always Sunny is a really good comedy, couldn't imagine any of the cast (which includes Danny Devito) as Cap tho. Nah, no reference, which is why some of the proportions are outta wack.

OH Man, I hope someone from Marvel is looking at this thread for ideas. I could totaly buy the cap outfit if it looked like that! Maybe just a more faded blue and darker red like in the ultimates.
