Jared Leto IS The Joker

Something like the Alex Ross image above would be great, though I'd prefer him in the purple suit (seriously, that's a must) and have his hair be a little messier. But the more they can do to differentiate from the Ledger version and keep him closer to the comic book version, the better. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE the Ledger version - best CBM villain ever, hands down - but since comparisons will ultimately be made no matter what, they should take care to make this Joker as different from that one as possible. Additionally, since WB seems to be taking things in a much more comic booky direction with its shared universe, there's no reason why they should adhere to Nolan's more realistic concepts. Hence things like "permawhite" skin can work here. Although I would request that they don't include the "Red Hood" stuff in his origin... or if they do, please make the Red Hood look less f***ing stupid.

The Joker should have multiple suits and looks in this universe.

Yep I could see it hindering his performance.

I know people (including your truly) were hatin on Ledger but were most asking for him to be buried under pounds of make up and prosthetics?

light prosthetics would not "hinder his performance". :whatever:
Geez, is it impossible for some people to not think in extremes? I'm not asking (nor do I think anyone is) for extensive prosthetics. it's small little pieces that would go on his brow, chin, nose, and cheeks only, that would SLIGHTLY enhance features, not huge cartoony pieces. they have materials that once glued on move extremely well with ones face with little to no cost on the performance. You'd think people would be aware that actors can give good performances with prosthetics after the last 30 years of film.

:funny:

I would like to see the purple suit in the alternative, redder/pinker shade that was more common in the 60's-70's. It would be distinct from Ledger and Nicholson's costumes, while still true to comicbook traditions.

I would like to see a joker that can fight in hand to hand combat like literally be as good as batman in fighting skills. The ying to batmans yang with everything from a variety of weaponized thematic props to intelligence and martial arts.

Eh, I'm not crazy about a Joker that can fight. He can get brutal if he has to but he should usually aim for cheap shots and weaponry. The only time he's really fought is when he beat down Luthor in Salvation Run.

The Joker as an equal to Batman in a fist fight really doesn't work for me at all. Doesn't that slightly undermine all of the years of intense training and inhuman self-discipline through which Bruce forced himself?

I also wouldn't mind the black suit making an appearance. It would pretty cool to see in live action as an alternate look for him.

Could a 5'8 gaunt Joker keep up with a 6'3 power house like Batman? :o

Just equip him with a joy buzzer, a gun, a knife, and an ace up his sleeve...and not to mention a tube that sprays out laughing gas.

Yes.....laughing gas........

Risus sardonicus, my boy.

I'd throw down for that.

I did this quick Manip of Jared Leto as the Joker, have to say it was very difficult to change his expression without (as being mentioned before in this thread) make him look like an over the top Dick Tracy character. I decided to go for the more sleak, and clean cut Joker, rather than grungey, something akin to Alex Ross' but a bit more modern. Excuse my bad photoshop skills
