His name full name is Chato Santana.
Well in the comics he's died a few times and then was brought back to life so I could easily see that happening again should DCEU want to use him again.I loved him up until his final transformation, which just ruined the moment for me. Hopefully they can find a way to bring him back, because he deserves better.

It almost seemed like theyd all make it out. The Suicide Squad, finally working together as a real team, confront the monstrous Incubus and Enchantress, ready to stop the demon and witch and save the world. Incubus is proving too much for them, however, until El Diablo decides enough is enough and transforms into a veritable fire god, probably calling on the Aztec god Xiuhtecuhtli. He goes out in a literal blaze of glory, taking down Incubus in the process. As it turns out, that may have been part of the much ballyhooed reshoots for the film.
It was interesting, because there were some changes that happened later on, actor Jay Hernandez revealed to Comicbook.com, I didnt know thats how the end was going to happen, early on. For me, it was important to make it good, make it impressive, and go out in a blaze of glory. Ultimately, I think it worked to give it some meaning, some emotional weight to the end of the story.
Of course, this is a comic book movie, and Hernandez remains hopeful that he could return should a sequel to Suicide Squad get made.
Of course there is [a chance he could return]! Im not saying anything, just that its a possibility, he said with a smile.
Interestingly, though, the climactic battle wasnt his hardest shoot. Hernandez said that the bar scene, in which Diablos tragic backstory gets laid out on the table and the Squad truly comes together for the first time, was the most difficult.
It was the scene I was most focused on. I wanted to make sure, because a lot of the story hinges on that moment, he said. Its the moment the Squad is sort of galvanized. Before that, its a bunch of just random people and everybody has their own goal and direction, they hate each other, some are plotting to kill each other. After that, they sit down and they realize this is it, this is their shot or not, and they decide to do the honorable thing. I think part of why that happens is the opening up of Diablo, who has been closed off for the whole movie up to that point. It was a pivotal moment, and a really important scene for me.
Who is El Diablo? I tried to Google him but there are different versions (this is why I don't read comic books) This one is an X gang member but is he a villain from another series like Harley and Boomerang?
El Diablo is a name that has been used by several heroes in the DC Universe.
................
The third Diablo is Chato Santana, an ex-criminal with the ability to control fire. Santana becomes more prominent in the New 52 reboot, where he is a member of the Suicide Squad. El Diablo was created by Robert Kanigher and Tony DeZuniga, first appearing in All-Star Western (Volume 2) #2. (1970)
if they want to bring him back, they can always go by the excuse that as a fire-demon he can't be truly destroyed by fire aka an explosion.
Man alive...don't watch SuperheroNews' spoiler review of SS. Hector needs to get off the PC train.
made the mistake and watched it my god can they get any more pc and said luis from antman was how you do a latino character right without stereotyping lol
dc just adapted a character faithfully to the screen and they scream pc stereotypes and totally push aside that he was very interesting deep character with a redemptive character arc

Did someone really claim Luis from Antman was how you do a Latino? What? That character was a waste of Michael Peña talent! At least Chato didn't make a cliche immigration joke every five seconds. El Diablo was a great character that was one of the best things about the movie!
Really really like those guys...but man are they getting difficult to watch. I thought this movie would even be "fun" enough for them. I get being upset this is the first representation. However, none of them read the comic before and they acted like he was a 1990s stereotype. Ayer probably gave his character the most depth in the movie.
Yea I just don't get it...
Here's the real irony. Michael Pena worked with David Ayer on several films. Chances are if he wasn't in Ant-Man/Marvel he would have been the one to play El Diablo.
Yeah man, I loved those guys when they started but...Hector has been pissing me off lately. Adam is the only level headed one.
Most of the people that are calling the movie racist probably never read the comics. I've seen some people say that it's racist to have a Australian character named Captain Boomerang who also drinks and is rude.
