In what way?

Thanks dude, if u got a myspace can you comment on my sight? Thanks for actually taking time to peep game. I produced all the joints too

That's cool. That's got to be an advantage, being able to produce as well.

I remember the year rap was birthed: 1997 and the release of No Way Out.

(I'm only partly kidding:o)

and Em. Marshall Mathers LP gets all the love but I'm partial to the Slim Shady LP.

However, the hungriest and most awe-inspiring lyricist rapping today is undoubtably Lil' Wayne.

:down

I don't remember if thier lyrics were ridiculous or not, but I always thought Onyx had some insanely cool vocal deliveries.

Onyx was okay. Sticky Fingaz was the only person worth listening to in the group.

And some of the members of Wu Tang.

Just not the idiot who rapped about ice cream. :hehe:

How can you hate on Raekwon?? Only Built 4 Cuban Linx is one of the best rap albums of all time.

Idk where the heck Lil Wayne came from. I think I preferred him around the time "Go DJ" came out. "Bling Bling" Wayne was just bad and "Lollipop" Wayne is overrated as hell.

Lil Wayne may be the most overrated human being alive.

The old Eminem is without a doubt my favorite rapper ever. He's a lyrical genius. I like his dark, evil, explicit, humorous, self loathing lyrics. He's way more creative than a lot of rappers have ever been or could be. But the dude fell off and he fell off hard. Jay-z is more consistent. He has put out more albums, most of which were good but none of them were totally wack. Em's last album is pure garbage. Jay made Reasonable doubt but Em made the Slim Shady LP. Both are classic albums. It's a tough choice but i picked Jay-z simply because he's more consistent.

When most people think about what they were doing for the majority of 9/11, horrible things probably come to mind. My ass was rushing to get into Wallmart to pick up Jay-Z's Blueprint 2. In my defense, I had no idea it had anything to do w/ terrorism, just thought those 2 pilots were asleep at the wheel or something(shut up, I was 16 :O)

I think Eminem still has it in him, he just needs to snap out of whatever rut he is in. The Re-Up wasn't that bad, in terms of his verses, And everyone around him keeps saying that the stuff he is doing for his new album is amazing (He hasn't really said boo in over a year). So who knows.

He needs to have emcees around him and not gangsters and thugs...that's when he was hot. His creative influences aren't there anymore. Even he's trying to be hard nowadays or at least the last time I knew of him.

Thew Re Up is a mixtape isn't it? I was talking about Encore. Songs like ass like that and shake that ass for me really do not suit him. He work with some serious producers. His own beats aren't completely wack but they're not as good as Dre's.

Could anyone explain whats so bad about "encore"? Imo it is the best of his albums

I liked about half of Encore. Rain Man kills me everytime

I also dont like every song on it but thats rarely the case with any pop-rap album I listen to. "Big Weeney" minus the chorus is quite good as well.

Encore is in no way as bad as people make it out to be. If Ass Like That and Just Lose It were replaced with We As Americans and Love You More off of the bonus disc, I don't think people would be so mad about it. It isn't as great as the previous 3, but it's not the biggest fall off ever either.

Evil Deeds
Yellow Brick Road
Like Toy Soldiers
My 1st Single
Spend Some Time
Mockingbird
Encore/Curtains Down

Are all classic Em style songs

Big Weenie
Puke
Mosh
Rain Man
Crazy In Love

Are experiments in flow and style and I think what turns people off of the album the most. They are different but I don't think they are bad.

Aside from a few random Featuring songs, The Re-up is the last place Em was a focus. I knew you were talking about Encore, I was just using his latest work as an example that he is struggling but I still think he has it in there somewhere.

My god, this thread is a cesspool of fail.

EDIT: Oh, and this is a draw for me. Em's highest moments were higher than Jay's, but Jay (going all the way back to Reasonable Doubt and up to American Gangster) has shown far more consistency.

Consistency equates to being a better emcee?

Wrong... just because Jay has put out album after album with the same (boring IMO) style doesn't make him a better emcee lyrically. Its apparent when they duet together, Em destroys him on his own track without even trying to.
