BvS Jena Malone is in Batman v. Superman... Which role is she playing? - Part 1

Yes, Jena Malone will be in the "Ultimate" or R Rated cut released on Blu-Ray/DVD.

Well this is a bit disappointing to hear and it will be even more disappointing if she doesn't turn out to be Babs...

McNairy and Malone might be like Holly Hunter then, relatively well known actors but with roles not necessarily related to popular characters people expect.

As she was cut from the version he saw, he can't really be saying what her role she had.
Presumably Scoot is still in the film, and he is dismissing it on the basis of who he plays.
That, and the fact that Barbra isn't in the movie, so, at least in the theatrical, technically she isn't playing her. But she COULD be in the cut scenes

I took what he said to mean that she's playing a different role, but you might be right.

I did, initially, as well. Then I read that she was completely cut from the film.

Certainly a bit disappointed myself.
Really was looking forward to more of the Bat family, assuming she played either of the rumoured rolls.

Of course very likely she's just another character, and not from the books, but we can hope.

To bad we have to wait even longer to find out now.

Really hoping we don't get Carrie Kelly before we get a proper representation of Dick Grayson as Nightwing, the impact of Jason Todd's death and a true depiction of Robin with Tim Drake in the role. It's time for him to get a shot in live action, and if you are going to set a film in a universe where Jason has already been killed, NOT using Tim Drake is a colossal mistake. He is not only the best Robin, he is one of the best characters in DC Comics.

Also, Jena Malone would have made an excellent Barbara Gordon/Oracle. Also could see Ashley Greene (who voices Oracle in Arkham Knight) as Barbara. Would also love to see Cassandra Cain get a shot in live action. Maybe an eventual Gotham-based film that's less a Batman-solo film and more of an ensemble dealing with the entire Bat Family (Batman, Robin, Nightwing, Oracle and Batgirl).

So disappointing. Really wanted to see Oracle in the film and makes me feel like there isn't much to look forward to outside what we've seen in the trailers.

A combined 8-10 minutes out of 2 and a half hours of footage? Lol k.

People really, REALLY like to let others know about how they aren't going to see something a lot around here. Which is always the silliest thing to me.

My initial reaction was that she plays Barbara in a flashback where she gets shot by the Joker. That's why it would be in the R rated cut.

Zack Snyder confirms Jena isn't Robin or Batgirl. http://www.ew.com/article/2016/03/04/batman-v-superman-dawn-justice-r-rated-ultimate-edition

One of the things cut from the theatrical release: A mystery character played by Jena Malone. Fans have been speculating about who she plays for months – and they’ll have to wait a few more before they find out.

“I think we should keep it private, but it’s nothing that’s been talked about,” Snyder says. “She’s definitely not Robin or Batgirl. I’m happy to say that.”

I'm starting to think that she isn't anyone important.

My next guess would be Lucy Lane because of the red hair thing and the character was hinted at that Ron Troupe interview with Lex Luthor.

Ok, given she ain't Batgirl or Oracle, I'm going for Supergirl.

If Malone isn't playing anyone like Barbara or Carrie Kelly why exactly is her role such a big secret?

She did have blonde hair when she visited the set.

well they do have wigs. and she posted a pic soon after that with her hair dyed red.
and let's not forget Snyder has been known to lie about things in his movies to throw people off track.

I hate to be one of those fans always searching for loopholes and such, but Snyder says she isn't playing Batgirl and, if this is set after Joker goes all Killing Joke on Barbara, then she really isn't Batgirl, sooooo.... maybe?
