hudson gained 20 lbs for the role. the role requires a larger person for the storyline, if you know the story of the Supremes, then you know why.

If you don't know about the Supremes, Diana Ross wasnt the original lead singer. Flo was, and they started getting big, so they put her in the back and put a smaller, prettier Diana up front to help make them more appealing.
