Civil War Jeremy Renner confirmed for Civil War

I think this was Renner's best performance as the character. He seemed to really be enjoying himself here.

This is the first time Hawkeye's dialogues written by M&M, and I think Renner is enjoying himself a lot with the kind of personality that they gave him.

Absolutely loved Hawkeye in this. Loved all his little quips....

Loved his snarkiness with Stark at the Raft.

I know a lot have said that what's said in this seems to confirm that he retired in Age of Ultron at the end, but I actually disagree. To me (and this is just my personal interpretation of it), he was off spending time with his family (not necessarily retired) when the Sokovia Accords mess came up - he was contacted, told the options, and he rejected the accords and therefore chose the 'retirement' option. Again, that's just my take on it.

Loved his encounter with Vision and his foresight to try and stall Vision while he and Wanda get away. Just all around, loved him (as always)

Nah, they make it pretty clear that [BLACKOUT]he retired after AoU. They even made him say something like "I should have stretched first" when he fights the Vision, the insinuation being that he's out of practice.[/BLACKOUT]

Also when he first shows up he says:

"I retire for five minutes and it all goes to ****" which to me means that he considered himself retired before the Sokovia Accords came into action, and that's when he considered things going to ****.

I too loved Hawkeye in this movie, especially being a mentor figure to Wanda.

Yeah I like the "Get off your ***" speech. Reminded me of his "the city is flying, there are killer robots, and I have a bow and arrow" speech.

I think Cap contacted Clint to help him get Wanda off of Vision and help him, and Clint obliged.
I know that all the Avengers on Team Cap would do anything to help Steve, but I hope he apologize them each of them personally but being imprisoned on The Raft because of him.

Liked Hawkeye a lot here. He needs to be strictly a backup character, popping up with occasional witty dialogue and performing some decent action sequences. Check, check, and check.

That's ********. Hawkeye could very much be a main character in a film and be fantastic.

I thought he retired rather than sign the Accord which had his name in it and a line for his signature.

In that case, he likely wouldn't have had to sign. But since he showed up out of retirement, his status would have reverted back to become equal to those of CA, Falcon, and Wanda's no-signs.

Have to say I really like Hawkeye in here. It was a nice continuation of his AoU appearance and he helped provide another reinforcement for Cap's stance on the Accords. Another thing I found really cool about him this time was him actually standing up to Tony and seeing that make Tony feel a sense of regret for what transpired.

Between AOU and CW, Hawkeye has really grown on me

I like him more than Wilson tbh

This movie is the most interesting MCU Hawkeye has ever been. I loved his scene with Tony at the Raft.

Callback to AOU

- Nat teases him about "pretneding we need this guy as the glue that holds us together" (or some **** like that)

- His wife tells him the Avengers need him

Andy Park:
“I’m good Arrow Guy. Let’s go!” I loved painting this keyframe for #CaptainAmericaCivilWar recreating the cover to Avengers #223 So many cool moments during this fight! #AntMan #Hawkeye @jeremy_renner_ #paulrudd #conceptart #design #keyframe #costume #marvelstudios #marvel
