Civil War Jeremy Renner confirmed for Civil War

Haha, I don't think they could have made it much clearer but yes he is most definitely confirmed to appear in CW and is on Team Cap! :woot:

Renner's panel at FanX in Salt Lake City this past weekend (I haven't watched it yet so I don't know what (if anything) he says about Hawkeye or Civil War) I could have gone, my coworker also does photography and is one of the photographers hired by SLCC - he got some extra passes as a result and offered me one but alas, I'm way too much of an introvert and large crowds really give me the heebie-jeebies :nrv:

And on a related note (related in that it took place at FanX):

When Clint was going off on Stark at the Raft, that was probably him at his most personable.

I'd say this was definitely Clint at his best in the MCU.

The rest of Team Cap are imprisoned in the Raft after the airport battle. Stark goes to the cells to plead his innocence about the matter and a bitter Clint goes off on him, saying how "the futurist" knows what's best for everyone and is going to drag them all with him whether they like it or not.

What I hope for Clint post CW

Since they're all on the run/in hiding now, really hoping Clint, Steve, Wanda and Falcon get a nice "Secret Avengers" bit in one of the other films. Hopefully Black Panther standalone. Doesn't have to be anything long, just a nice meaningful bit like how Falcon appeared in Ant Man. Would be a great way of letting us know what they're up to in the meantime before infinity war

Do you know what's great about where Hawkeye ends up here?

If they wanted to, they now have the perfect set up for a Fraction-esque series. He's on the run now - and probably can't go back to his family, at least for now. You could have him laying low in NYC (or elsewhere) and play out similar events to that as he tries to keep out of sight. Could be interesting.

His family is off the grid. [BLACKOUT]I doubt Tony rats him out - once he saw them locked in The Raft it was clear he wasn't happy with it.[/BLACKOUT]

So I guess Hawkeye retired in between films?

Ok...

What did he expect to happen, exactly, when he joined Cap's efforts? He seems a bit too bitter at the end.

He retired at the end of AoU. He wasn't even part of the new Avengers.

He expected a normal jail. He didn't expect to be in some inescapable super jail. Even Tony was surprised.

He was in a super jail more secure than anything you've ever see under the water. It's a bit ridiculous for someone who has saved so many lives.

In the airport scene, he knew that something would happen when he said sometimes to win, some of the team needs to lose.

Her was bitter with Tony because Tony signed a treaty giving away theif freedom. Pretty clear where Clint stands since he turned down Natasha's request. Cap calls and he comes right out.

It was also pretty clear he retired in AoU.

With his level of snark I felt this was the closest to the comics we've ever seen Clint.

Renner was great in this, and like BW this is the best MCU he's in. Funny how Russo Bros. made everybody look great in CW.

What's funny is the reviews said he was wasted but I thought he really made the most of his screentime.

Same here. He really stood up, and I had a big smile on my face when he shows up!

Every scene no matter how small used him brilliantly. Loved that exchange between himself & Stark in the Raft.

Also you gotta wonder what happened with Clint's family. Could he have moved them before he came to Cap's aid? Tony & Nat are basically some of the only people that know where he lives. I don't think Nat would give him & his family up... but Tony if compromised I feel would make a move on them.

He also deserves credit for executing the plan to get Wanda out of house arrest brilliantly, even when he knew that he's no match for Vision.

I loved Hawkeye's entrance in this movie. The little encounter with Vision was a great scene.
