JERICHO (what happens when a nuclear mushroom cloud suddenly appears)!

As of now, my wife still likes the show...so I will continue to watch it with her. If it was up to me....it would be a "I'll watch it if there's nothing else on" show. It started with great potential...now it's just so-so.

It's a month after nuclear bombs have gone off in many parts of the United States.....and the good folks of Jericho are "a little inconvienienced" by it. Where is their water coming from? Even the trainload of food should be almost gone by now, because no one seems to be conserving anything. Where are the refugees from other areas? Why hasn't at least one plane or helicopter flew over the area? Why do we not see a more substantial police force formed? I guess all of that would take the fun away from throwing a city wide Halloween party.

My HOPE is that the show becomes progressively darker over time as things become more dangerous and desperate. I mean, there's a whole country out there...and you know some people are gonna be like savages...there is going to be lots of looting and vigilante groups, etc...

I think it's a good idea to start off with the town the way it is...but things need to get darker as things get more desperate. They can't hide in the town forever.

I read in a interview that it will eventually evolve into a Western type thing. That is one of the reasons why I am sticking with it. It sounds interesting to think of people riding horse, & what not. All the while have a modern sensibility.

Good episode tonight ...

I thought I would never say this about this series. But tonight I had to take the Mayor's rival side. I think the town would've been better off with blowing up the bridge. It leaves only one enterance/ one exit into Jericho. Instead of having half the town forces guard 2 post. They could've just focus their entire fire power, however small they may be, onto that one point.

But I can't argue with how things turned out. Emily's dad and his gang coming as backup was kinda cool.

I just wished Eric would've die. He's starting to get on my nerves :cmad:

The preview to next week's episode was interesting. Food being dropped onto Jericho by China.

Gah I missed it, I really wanted to see that standoff. I did see the Prestige instead though, so I guess it worked out.

Don't worry you didn't miss anything. This show is as boring as the town those ppl live in.

^ Yet I still I watch it with great expections

Anyhoo ...

In tonight's episode jets did a supply drop over Jericho. But for some reason the supplies were from China. Later on Hawkins & Jake found some computer chip sewed into the parachutes. According to Jake, ,the military jumbo jets that did the dropping were Russian types that were last built in the 1970's. According to Hawkins, the parachutes are U.S. Airforce issued. So now they're left with this ****ed up equation .... Russian plane + U.S. Parachutes + Chinese food/supplies = wtf ???

Oh, the IRS chick & farm boy finally kissed. That should pretty much put a end to all the mushy soft stuff. Oh wait ... Dale hasn't nailed that Candace Baily chick yet :cmad:

And the other thing worth mentioning. Jonas is losing control over his gang of thieves. And from the looks of it, one of them went back into town to kill off the grocery store lady. I for one laughed because I didn't like the ***** anyway :oldrazz: The preview to next week's episode shows that Jonas is on the run. So he's obviously been framed.

I was watching the show with someone and towards the end when they showed the old lady, they remarked "She's a weird character, one minute she can be a total *****, the next she's kind of nice. I wonder where they're going with her?" Then she got stabbed. I had to laugh.

Anyways, pretty good episode, some weird twists with the drops. Especially the little Chinese flyers. Those were kind of creepy.

Hell Yeah! That had to have been one of the funniest things and with that happy song playing it made it better. I really wanted that generator to explode :woot:

I was happy to see the cranky old lady go, see was only worried about making profits during what could be World War 3, although I doubt we'll ever figure out what happened outside of Jericho. People complain about Lost being slow, but it's downright fast compared to the revelations in this show, helps that Lost has interesting characters too.

I agree I only keep tuning in each week hoping something will happen only to find that there are more questions with no answers forthcoming. They keep hinting at things and nothing ever really happens. There seems to be a lot of common sense missing from the writers and the people of Jericho.

Jericho will wind up the first half of its segmented season with a cliffhanger finale Wednesday at 8.

The show will then return, in February, and continue uninterrupted from there.

And what a February: It starts on the 14th with a recap special examining the story so far. Then an all-new original episode on February 21st that will look at life in Jericho the day before the nukes went off.

NBC's Kidnapped lost viewers in its second week, while CBS's Jericho improved, making it one of the few new shows of the fall season to improve week over week.

At this point I have trouble seeing this show lasting. They need to start answering some of the questions and stop giving more questions. It's been going at a snail's pace. Hopefully tonight will be different and give some answers.

This has to be one of the most boring shows, but yet I find it being my 3rd fav show on TV as of now lol

Tonights the fall finale. So i'm guessing this is the last new ep until sometime nexy year.

A lot of shows are doing this. You also got Lost and Prison break doing this.

Good episode tonight ...
-The prick wins the election.

-Jonah is accused of murdering the annoying Grocery store lady. But it's actually the Mitchell who did it. Therefore Dale puts a bullet in him. And Dale his left with the deed to the store. I guess that old hag wasn't so bad :o

-Robert Hawkin's ppl were about to identify the traitor in the group. But his son comes in asking for him to play football with him. Stupid kid :o Later they ask for his location for a possible pick-up as they hunt down the traitor. Robert tells them to go on without him.

-Farmerboy & IRS lady are getting it on back at the house.

-Survivors come pouring in. Amongst is ........ Emily's fiance .... aaawwwww

-Back to Robert .... His ppl aren't pleased and send him back satellite images of him playing football with his son. Then leave a chilling message at the end. "We'll see soon" or something along that line :o

'Jericho' producers promise several answers in season

By DANIEL FIENBERG

PASADENA, Calif. - Zap2it.com

Although CBS decided that TV critics needed only a small panel discussion with the "Jericho" team, a room overflowing with reporters turned up to hear what's coming up on the post-apocalyptic drama.

Amidst a mushroom cloud of mystery, "Jericho" went off the air at the end of November, starting a multi-month hiatus that won't conclude until Feb. 21. During that time, denizens of the Internet have been left to buzz about a first-year series that has, thus far, been more of a solid performer than a bona fide hit. That left critics to inquire how "Jericho," recipient of mostly tepid reviews, has developed its following.

"They love the mystery of who is Robert Hawkins, and where has Jake been," says executive producer Carol Barbee, referring to the lead characters played by Skeet Ulrich and Lennie James. "I mean I think people love that mystery. And then, of course, there's the whole contingency of people who just blog about who's sleeping with who and who they'd like to match up, and that's fun."

Co-star Ashley Scott, one of the show's potential love interests, adds, "A lot of blogging about my humungous (breasts)."

Here's the problem: Viewers watching "Jericho" only to blog on Ashley Scott's chest probably don't require narrative resolution. The show can go in circles as far as they care, just so long as characters occasionally get caught in the rain. On the other hand, viewers who tune in to get wrapped up in the mythology actually need to know things and as the producers on "Lost" can tell you, denying gratification to those fans can lead to frustration in a hurry.

The "Jericho" team swears that before this season is over, many of the first season's key questions will be answered.

"I will tell you that by the end of this season - we always planned to close off or satisfy certain mysteries than open doors to a new level of mystery," Barbee promises. "And so by the end of the season, you will know where Jake's been for the past five years. You will know what Hawkins' involvement is with the bombings, and you will also know who was behind the bombings, who did it. Why is a different reason and who else is involved and who of our people are still involved and what that second wave of attacks is going to be - all of that stuff sort of is the next level."

Barbee notes that the "Jericho" creative team has been monitoring activity on the web, but she comes up short of assuring bloggers and message board addicts that their words are changing the direction of the show.

"I think we serve the fans best when we stick to the story we meant to tell and it has an integrity to it," she says. "But, yes, I would say that if 90 percent of the fans are sort of shifting in a certain way, we have to look at that issue. Or if one fan says something that's really cool, we'll go, 'That's a great idea.' So we do listen, but I would say that 99.9 percent of what we're doing is we know the story we're trying to tell."

For the season's second half, that story will include some dark dealings involving Scott's Emily, whose father is James Remar's outlaw Jonah. Jake and Hawkins will apparently be forced to work together more extensively.

Plus, the residents of Jericho will enter into a trade agreement with a neighboring town with mixed results. The nuclear attack will still linger in the background, but the producers promise the series will concentrate as heavily on the character-based subplots.

"(T)he goal is to get people talking and thinking about themselves in the context of a very changing world and in a world that could have serious consequences, not to scare the crap out of everybody and say, 'Oh, my God, this is going to happen,'" says executive producer Jon Turteltaub. "It's more a question of 'Who are you?,' 'What would you do?' and 'Aren't these people really hot?'"

Wait, did this new have a new episode? I completely forgot about it. hum. Silly farmers.

This is one of those take it or leave it shows for me. I think I still have a season pass for it on my DVR, but that's mainly out of laziness than a great love for the show. It's really boring and hasn't really gone anywhere story wise. The fact that one of the questions the executive producer likes is "Aren't these people really hot?" shows how far off the mark with this type of show these people are. There's plenty of "hot" people on TV, concentrate on compelling storytelling, not your actors looks.

Nope. It was just a recap episode with Hawkins doing the narrating. But next week, I'll be watching for sure :D

I saw it. I didn't know it was going to be a recap episode. If I had I wouldn't have bothered to record it on my DVR.:cmad:

I'll be watching next week though. I like this show alot.:yay:

A recap episode of Jericho is probably about as interesting as a new episode of Jericho.
