Yes we do. We see him say it to the senator while he's in his office, holding a glass of whine and dressed in that trendy little cardigan, and we also see him say it while he's in a crowded hallway, full of people bustling around behind him. I imagine it's a catchphrase of his, or even a running gag.
 
No, it's actually the tone in which he says it both times. Listen to the CC trailer and then the new one and you'll hear the difference.

I'll check again just I thought the lip movement didn't exactly match what he was saying. This is common in trailers, BTW.

They also use multiple takes in trailers. I'm sure he said that line more than once in different takes, even if he says it only once in the actual film.

You mean like the guy in the opening of the trailer that says "you must be new here" or whatever he says :woot:

Good point. Might be just that.
 
But they're completely different scenes. In this instance, it wouldn't merely be a case of alternate takes.

I didn't focus on him very much as he's a bit player.
 
Because it wasn't a close up. With a close up it's easy to match lips to what you hear. Without the close up tough they can get away with all kinds of misdirection.
 
Yes it was a close up. Both ti-Are we watching completely different trailers here?

Which one are you using when you say this? I'm going off this newest one mostly and it was not a close up that would be of any help.

Yeah, even the tone is different. Unless they cut out an entire scene, it does seem he's going to say it at least twice in the film. Once, in his goofy public persona and then in his serious tone at home.

I liked that one - but I was bothered by the mincing, squeaky, jokey tone of Eisenberg's earlier appearance. I have no idea what that characterization is trying to accomplish other than make Lex look like a total stooge.

I get that it's a new characterization, and it may work in context, but it's just a dumb way to start a trailer - especially since the dialogue seems a tad wonky.

Yeah, but Moriarty was very austere and dry with his eccentricity - it's the bouncy flamboyance of that scene that bothers me.

It's just one scene, though - maybe he's mocking them or something, and it makes sense in context. I liked what we had previously seen from Luthor, in part because it was more like Moriarty.
 
Weren't there rumors awhile back that the scenes they were shooting at that location involve Bruce getting violent towards Lex?

And then people would be complaining that they were the "safe and predictable" route, you can bank on that. And again, I point out the last trailer, where most of his dialogue was much more creepy/sinister, as was his line to Lois here. So people, surprise surprise for fanboys, are making A LOT of assumptions.

This seems to be a movie where "dual identities" is a running theme, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if Lex has one as well, in a sense.
