This. We know they said that public Lex is a facade. He's the devil in plain sight because he's masking his megalomania with a avuncular fidgety nerd persona. People seem to be concentrating on the scene he's in with our heroes' alter egos and not on the rest of his lines in the trailer.

They're probably not aware as aware as we are of the dual persona Lex has.

I hardly care about Lex Luthor out of all the versions the only one I really liked was from JL/JLU. This version of Lex has me interested and invested; I feel he had the best lines in the trailer and he stole the spotlight from freaking Bruce and Clark meeting, not a simple thing. I do get the feeling that he is playing at something and I'm looking forward to what it is.

Eh... Bald under wig, losing hair to radiation, accident with a curling iron... The status of Lex's hair and how much screen time he gets sans his red locks is such a trivial thing to me. We know for sure that at some point he's not gonna have hair. That is good enough for me.

Exactly

I am part of a very very small group of people who believe this version of Lex Luthor will steal the show in BvS. I have nothing to base this on, mind you, except some vague remarks from Snyder and Jessie in interviews about Lex and his duel personality. I have also seen a movie recently where Eisenberg plays two different personalities, so...

I have a feeling people are going to look back and say, "whoa, we may have been wrong about this guy". Again, I wouldn't at all be suprised if Eisenberg stole the show from Cavil, Gal, and even Ben as Batman. I realize I am in the minority though.

Not sold on Lex yet. I was hoping for a more serious stoic Luthor. Something from the recent comics or TAS. I'm still interested in what Eisenburg is going to bring, but I'm iffy at the moment.

From what I saw in the last trailer that Lex could have been in Batman and Robin and not felt out of place.

I really hope he acts differently when he's not in public, but the less public shots in the trailer weren't any good either.

It reminded me a little bit of Batman Forever Riddler at times, but hoping that evolves.

Watch the Comic Con trailer. Lex isn't going to be in troll mode all the time.

In the CC Trailer he gives that awful line about the red capes in what appears to be privacy.

But he isn't trolling. I thought personality and demeanor were the issues, not dialogue.

I agree he isn't trolling. I think he's just a weird awkward dweeb for the whole movie.

The niceties and playfulness might be an act for the guests at his party, but I think the weirdness and awkwardness is ingrained into his personality.

True but shouldn't marketing have done a better job of that?

Even in the first trailer a lot people thought Jesse was playing Lex a little campy and the last trailer probably just cemented that in a lot of peoples minds.

Not necessarily. The makers may want to leave his true sinister malevolence as a bit of a surprise to casual film goers.

There's the scene he's talking to senator Finch as well. He looks damn serious.

Yeah, I think that's most serious I've seen of him. Matter of fact, both times he was talking about "oldest lie in America" he seemed serious. Though you could tell that he was still enjoying manipulating Senator Finch, playing with her fears... it's clear that he manipulates them all and truly enjoys playing his little games, even being unable to resist rubbing it in their faces, like in that scene with Clark and Bruce.

Anyway, I get that he's young and energetic entrepreneur and enjoys playing people around him like a fiddle very much, but I do hope he'll become more serious and closer to the classic Lex once his plans go down.

I think we're supposed to underestimate Luthor. It'll make his malevolence that much more shocking, even though we know to expect it.

Yeah, I agree. Even the way he looks should point in that direction, short guy with that haircut of his and flamboyant, patterned shirts. He really does appear as harmless little man.

So was I. But that thought seems to be ridiculous on this board. Lol
