Either Brainiac or Metallo would benefit from the Lex/OS idea. I think Metallo makes more sense from a "built by humans" standpoint; if Brainiac is involved, he's more likely to help design the Lex/OS system. As smart as I hope Lex is, Brainiac should have the edge in any software design.

Now, tying into my thoughts on Lex/OS and its usefulness to both villain:

Both villains could use the OS's capabilities to counter Superman and Batman's intelligence gathering abilities by hacking into smartphones. Both could also use the system's wi-fi to transfer their consciousness and control other machines...yeah, kind of like Ultron. Now, maybe if Metallo can integrate the tech into his body using the system to troubleshoot any issues between tech, that would be interesting, particularly if the military is paying Lex to build them stuff. And for Brainiac, you could use the system to excuse how Brainiac could escape defeat after defeat and keep his software mobile...while also giving Lex a way to hold him hostage by sabotaging it.

Glad to see the attitude hasn't changed regarding that :hehe:

Brainiac should be like Scarlett Johansson in Lucy. All that brain power and the devastation it can cause.

I wouldn't want a Brainiac that was Ultron 2.0 or a poor man's version of Eradicator.

So, folk would be okay with Brainiac being man made?

I wouldn't mind the approach of Lex working alongside Brainiac, perhaps even unknowingly, and being used by him in the end... maybe even Lex playing part in unleashing him onto our world by accident, but that's where I'd draw the line. I definitely wouldn't like him to be directly Luthor's creation.

I would much rather prefer a Lex that is the mastermind and not one that's played like a fiddle...Brainiac can be saved for another film. Have Lex create OMAC or Metallo

That is true. It would be a disservice to what is a most intelligent villain of DCEU.

My first thought when we saw the synopsis and people were thinking of Darkseid or Doomsday or Starro was...why can't this threat be Lex? They are doing Superman right, looks to be doing Batman right...and the same goes for WW....so why not Lex? If I was writing this movie I would give you a Lex you never would have seen before and people would never ever question why Superman's archenemies was just a bald guy.
I would have Lex pulling the strings on everything in this movie and at the end...Lex gets away with it. Sure his scheme is stopped and he loses some money on the plan but no one has evidence it was him...Teflon Lex gets away but he's made his enemies stronger and they are now looking at him as an enemy.

Exactly this.

People took it that "greater threat" had to be Doomsday or some physical beast of the sort, but I always thought that Lex fits that description well... a genius with wealth, power and resources he has, being an amoral psychopath at that... I don't see much bigger threat for the world than that.

And I do hope he'll manage to get away. I hope that Trinity and Lois will figure out his scheme and what sort of man he is by the end of the film, but won't be able to prove it, as he was intelligent enough to cover his tracks well. Add to that a good public reception he has, he should be basically untouchable.

maybe he does get away and he decides that since the heroes are teaming up that he needs to get a team himself...hence his appearance in Suicide Squad...which could mean Justice League could have the Legion of Doom in it....

I wouldn't be happy if Brainiac was created by Lex.

This does seem very possible. Though I must admit that I am not really a fan of Legion of Doom. Still, I guess that like with most things, it all depends on the execution. I could get on board with it.

I don't think Brainiac will be man made just based on Snyder's comments:

http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/07...s-brainiac-will-be-in-a-future-superman-movie

"I remember talking about, 'What's the next villain?'" said Snyder. "'We can't do another alien invasion.' Brainiac was definitely down the road."

Good call. I forgot about this quote.

regarding the lexcorp viral stuff,

i feel like theyre heavily influenced by the Weyland-Yutani ideas of the good-ol' Alien franchise.

latest

And i get a bit of Deus Ex: Human Revolution vibe to it, too. From the Sarif Industries virals.

Reminds me of Abstergo from Assassin's Creed.

Good call. I was focusing on visual similarities with "Mass Effect's" Cerberus and somehow completely failed to make this connection.

Especially in Assassin's Creed 4 when they were practically marketing Abstergo and the Animus the same way Lexcorp is marketing their product, lot of visual similarities between the two.

thank you!

that was it actually, i was hurting my brain from trying to remember where i thought i've seen this viral marketing before, and i came up with weyland-yutani (building better worlds was which triggered that) and sarif from deus ex (because of the tech stuff).

can't believe assasin's creed didn't pop up. but that's even closer, yes.

I think I remember... it's been a while since I last played "Black Flag".

Lex still has a lot in common with the Illusion Man. Both are human supremacists, who covet the power of aliens. Both are incredibly charismatic and seductive and think they are doing what is best for humanity.

Has it already been speculated that LexCorp will have a hand in Cyborg's origins and that it may be covered in BvS? I remember a football game being one of the first scenes filmed and Vic Stone was a football player.

Lex is a guy who THINKS he's doing the right thing...but it's just an excuse for his desire for power and jealousy towards the one who holds the power he so desperately desires.

Superman could change the world in a heartbeat if he wanted to, and from the events of MOS, everybody from Bruce to Lex knows this, and that's the big difference which you'll see, at least I think: Bruce genuinely believes the best course of action is to destroy Superman, while Lex, from that trailer, seems to be gaining some enjoyment from seeing Supes on his knee, bowing his head.
Lex doesn't care about safety or the concern of the world, it's just his public image masking his desire and jealousy for the power and influence Superman wields, or potentially could, if it was in Lex's hands...

Consciously unaware of this, I think, makes him compelling. He shouldn't exactly admit to himself the real reasons behind his actions and feelings towards Superman.

Oh, I agree. I actually said a while ago that more than one parallel could be made regarding LexCorp and Cerberus and their respective leaders.
