It will be odd if he does not get some kind of reference in this movie.

I always wanted to see Kurt Russell play Jim.

Gordon is the Joker. Sorry, I had to say this.

I'm going with "Retired" who then will come out of retirement in the solo Batman film to help Batman.

See, I want him to be retired, but I'm thinking he's dead. Having everyone around Batman being dead would hit him a little harder than Gordon being retired, and everyone but Jason being simply away from Gotham. But that's what I want. I want Gordon retired, Nightwing in Bludhaven, and Barbara Gordon (as Oracle or a recovered Batgirl, whatever) somewhere else. But I'm not sure they're doing that.

Well, he could just not exist in this universe.

Anyways, I think he's retired, and Jena Malone is portraying his daughter - Barbara.

I see him as retired. And in a way, I can see them going the Batman Beyond route and having Barbara as the new Commissioner Gordon.

Well, if the "Gordon era" has truly come and gone, that means he's no longer police commissioner and most likely inactive. Without more information, though, we can't really infer whether he's dead or alive.

There's no "changed his gender and is now known as Georgina Gordon" option?

Your poll sucks Sam. :o

I think he may be retired. And he can play with his contacts to help Batman.

I tell you he dead

Hard to say at this point. He may or may not be "out of the picture" But there's no evidence to suggest his actual status. At this point, we'd be just guessing.

I'm guessing he's out of the picture - retired or deceased.

Gordon, I fear like many other batman side characters in this universe, is dead.

At least he will have existed.

From Empire magazine.. He's either dead or retired.

hopefully active

maybe we'll get a mention of him in the movie. say that he's on medical leave or something. if i remember correctly, there's been instances in the comics that Gordon has cancer.

Maybe he's just not in the movie?

I don't hate the idea, in fact I like the idea of Yindel being the commissioner that deals with Batman. Maybe Gordon exists, but is retired, and comes back? Or, he serves the Alfred role for Yindel (as well as having scenes with Batman as well)
