Elf is the only Farrell movie I can sit through and really enjoyed.

I probably would have already, but AMC plays The Green Mile 3 or 4 times a day so I can't forget.

Haha. Oh that movie. He really hasn't done anything else major like that to my memory, right?

Not that I can think of. Most here know him as Kingpin or voice of Kilowog in Green Lantern. He was pretty funny in Ricky Bobby with Ferrell.

I enjoy re-watching all TV shows and then realizing that those people have become big in Hollywood.

Clark Duncan on Married with Children.

I also remember him in Armageddon.

Yeah he was great in Armageddon, hell everyone was great in it.

That's... strange.

BTW JewHob, did I ever tell you that my daughter really liked that book you wrote? I need to remind her to post a review, but she's 11 so it's not really a priority for her.

No you didn't but that's awesome! I don't usually do kid stuff but I wanted to have the experience of planning a story with my daughters (5 and 7 at the time). I had a blast with the book and actually have a sequel planned, though whether or not I get to it is the question. And yeah, a review on Amazon would be awsome. I only have one for Flitter & Plank so far, which was positive. I know of people reading it but they aren't reviewing it, so people don't know it's good :(

And I'm assuming you're talking about Flitter & Plank. If you're talking about Cicada Song then you officially have the most awesome daughter ever :)

What's the book you wrote?

I've written and self-published two books so far. The first was a Romantic Suspense novel (with a Christian slant) called Cicada Song. It's getting pretty good reviews on Amazon so far. The second is a children's novel (3rd to 4th grade reading level) called the Adventures of Flitter & Plank... starring my daughters, my dog, my cats, and anyone else my daughters wanted me to write in there.

I'm currently editing a Christian Fantasy novel (book 1 of a 2 or 3 book series) but that one won't be ready for release for a while. I can't afford an editor and I'm self-taught so I have to be picky on my editing. I wasn't picky enough on Cicada Song and got some flack about my grammer (and rightfully so), so I'm working on improving my writing.

You can find both books in my sig. Both are available in eBook and paperback, though Flitter & Plank is down in paperback at the moment while I'm making some corrections that were pointed out to me.

It was definitely not a romantic suspense novel with a Christian slant... it was about fairies. But I do have the most awesome daughter ever. ;)

Doesn't say there is a Kindle version of Cicada Song. :(

EDIT: Nvermind, sorta. It doesn't show a Kindle version in the box, but there is a link off to the side. Outta get that fixed, yes...?

EDIT2: No wait I am an idiot, it was free for Kindle. :D. Thanks JH.

No problem. I hope you enjoy it

And yeah, it's free for Kindle and I have no idea how to change that. But I don't write for money anyway and exposure is exposure.

You still should get paid something. :( (I'll read it as soon as I finish the one I'm reading right now, Necroscope by Brian Lumley)

I get paid through other sites, just not Amazon. I'm not sure why.

Expect some errors as far as grammer goes. I'm decent but I'm still flawed on that and can't afford an editor. I'm a work in progress.

I am sure it will be fine. :) Can't be any worse than some of the other free books I've gotten. Some have been so bad I've deleted them off my Kindle after only afew pages. :( I doubt yours will be that bad seeing as how you have a paper edition as well.

Although I can't stand bad grammar, the story can't be worse than other popular rubbish out there *coughs* 50 Shades of Gray.

It's like a four-letter word, ain't it?

:p

And while I've not read it, my wife LOVED the 50 Shades of Gray series. As a guy I thought, "You know, this could really expand our sex life." My wife has since laughed at me.

Twilight-Porn?
Got that name from the Nostalgia Critic, don't know if it applies to the story

I've actually had fantastic reviews on the story. Heck, I've had people in states I've never seen befriend me on facebook wanting to follow my writing career. Several have commented on the book's amazon page that they hope I make Cicada Song a series, so I think the plot's a success. It seems my developing grammar is the only thing holding Cicada Song back, though most seem to not mind it nowadays. I'm sure it didn't help that I wrote the whole book in present tense and then converted it to past tense. A lot of room for mistakes there. I've been updating and fixing it as often as I learn of issues. I have a friend who went to school for editing looking at it now so hopefully it'll be even better before long, and another man (retired editor) looked at it and has recognized my issues and is giving me a book on Monday that he thinks will correct them..

I've been told that I improved dramatically between Cicada Song and Flitter & Plank, and just doing the edits in my new book (the working title is Refuge Book 1: From the Ruins of Extinction) I can tell that I'm getting better. The retired editor mentioned that while Cicada Song still needs some work, Flitter & Plank required very little editing.

I can't stand what it represents myself; it's little more than a pretty transparent description of (apparently a lot of) women's rather unhealthy psychological sexual makeup.

Not to mention, all I've heard from everyone is that her vocabulary and prose style is reminiscent of a preschooler's.

My kid gave me her copy for free -- she didn't care much for it -- I haven't read it yet and I am in no rush. I've got things I'd rather get to first, but for free? Yeah, I'll grab it just to see what the fuss is all about.
