JL Casting Call Update

WB won't state anything till the new year. Main reason I think you don't want to stop the Dark Knight hype with the trailer suppose to release pretty soon, so it makes sense...

Im just curious that what people actually want as a cast? You want names?

Jessica Alba, Ben Affleck, Julian McMahon, Michael Chikilis, Nicholas Cage, Chis Evans, Jennifer Gardner.... those are some name actors and how well did those movies do?

Well, I think you can find cast examples in comicbook films to support any argument you'd like to make, especially in the supporting cast: Marlon Brando, Gene Hackman, Kevin Spacey, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Willem Dafoe, Michael Caine, Liam Neeson... Know what I mean?

A good script is always the most important. If we're to believe the propaganda, JL's script is amazing. So why not cast the film great, too? They also should be looking at each actor's appropriateness for the character, not just the "name."

On that subject, I'm going to keep beating on D.J. Cotrona since he makes the perfect whipping boy for this argument. Where in the name of Rao did THAT come from? Who in bloody hell would even think he'd make an acceptable Superman? It's ludicrous. LOL

My Superman list is rather short. The only choices I'm willing to accept at this point:

- Sir Welling
- Sir Routh
- Sir Duhamel
- Sir Caviezel

All offer something different, but I wouldn't complain if either one was cast. Welling has proven himself for me, Routh was solid enough in SR, Duhamel has a true blue All-American presence about him, and Caviezel would be a great choice for a more "veteran" Supes.

I'd love to see Duhamel as Supes and Caviezel as Bats.

Even the age and height difference would be perfect.

i have no problem with unknowns at all, in fact i think its even better, but just as long as the people they cast fit their roles well. why cast unknowns who don't fit the roles perfectly? thats my problem, none of the people mentioned really fit their roles well. i agree with what alot of you are saying, people will see this even it does look bad or have a crap cast because it is a movie with all the major dc superheroes.

I was wondering this: Should the superman of JLA be a more macho superman...ala 1950s portrayal? I.e.... "How fast do you fly?" "I can fly faster than Mach 3! " OR should the actor do a Christopher Reeve improv and be humble ? I really think, given all the testosterone going into this movie with all these superheroes, a meek and mild Superman will be out of place. I would play superman with a bit more aggression, "General! Would you like to step outside?" attitude... What do you guyz think ?

Only we know pretty much for most of the rumors is the villains are max lord/omacs and possibly talia ah ghul. Story could be taking plots from tower of babel and brother eye. The confirmed heroes list is Superman, Batman, Wonderwoman, Martian manhunter, Aquaman, Green lantern(john stewart version), and the Flash(Both barry allen and wally west). Then only other things we know are all the young rumored people who tested/could be the cast. Officially the film isnt green lighted yet and officially the director george Miller and the writers are not officially stated by wb to be it but they are. The reason i read that the film isnt officially green lighted yet is cause once a film is green light is when the studio has to start paying the director and other crew for work and they are probably not going to be officially green lighted into a few weeks before the film starts filming at the rumored feb 11th date. Now for past two months we have heard various rumored dates of cast revealed which ended up being false in the end. The most likely date the cast is revealed is possibly when The new guy becomes head of WB Jan 1st.

Wasn't this movie greenlit months ago? I think that's when SHH put it's forum up then when it was finally approved.

well from wht i heard it officially hasnt been greenlighted,as i said it cause once its green lighted is when the studio has to start paying the crew and studios delay this so the dont have to pay the crew more before filming starts and all that. And what i said about the 1st is others posters think since the new guy is becoming president on the first he might officially announce the cast as one of the many projects in the work.
