It's the big cinematographic project that will bring to the big screen the adventures of the Justice League, the DC comic-book that gathers the best of its superheroes gallery and will have an estimated budget of 200 million $.
Santiago Cabrera, the actor who portrayed Isaac, the painter who could see the future, in the first season of the Heroes series, that was aired here on Mega, was cast for the movie.
Cabrera will take on the role of Aquaman, the ecological superhero who can breathe underwater and speak with the aquatic creatures.
The news of his casting came to him directly from the mouth of the director of the movie George Miller (Happy feet and the Mad Max trilogy). The filmmaker called him personally on the phone, after seeing his test screen for the movie.
“Listening to him talk of his vision, of the reasons why he wants to do this movie, of the world he wants to create around this characters won me over immediately” comments from Los Angeles the actor regarding his first impression. And adds that “being part of a project of such a scale could be a big step in the career of any actor”.
After being cast, Cabrera flew to Sidney in December, to take part of a pre-production meeting with cast and crew “a cargo de la cinta en pleno” (in charge of the movie?).
“The experience was incredible. Being surrounded by greats of the cinema, as are the makers of the movie, was very impressive. Besides seeing live the work behind a megaproduction like this one.
A movie with a budget of more than 200 milion $ is really something at another level from anything I've done before” he declares about the experience.
In the movie the actor will share credits with the star of the OC series, Adam Brody (Flash), The rapper Common (Green Lantern) and other superheroes (see the box).
My Spanish isn't half as good as my English, so I did my best.
The first part:
I'm hoping for the latter....Everyones contract expired back in jan when the film was officially delayed. So in reality if wb and or miller want they can hire everyone back or they can recast every role.
Yea it does look like he was indeed aquaman but that was all before the delay back in jan. So who knows who in the pre delay cast will indeed be back for the film or if certain roles will get recast. I could live with him as Aquaman really counts on what version of the character they were/are to use in the film. As for the other actors i just want to see batman and superman roles recast with better suited people.
Why is that?Btw, if Miller would drop JLA, it would IMO be save to say that it would be the movies death...
Unfortunately you could be right. On the other hand I have lost faith in Miller and that worries me.Cause the reason JL is (still) supposed to happen is that WB needs it as their 2009 tentpole. And if Miller would leave, it should be impossible to get it out next Summer. Of course, this wouldn't neccessarly be the permanent death of the movie, but as for the next few years for sure...
I don't think you can tell what the general public will think when they see the movie, based on what we fanboys think at the moment. Hell, you can't even tell what fanboys will think when the see the movie based on that...But with hammer and cotrona really i dont see the general public taking hammer and cotrona serious. If us comics fans dont like them i dont think the general public will either.
Yeah yeah, and people also said Daniel Craig just wouldn't be right for Bond based on his look and crap like that. And then the guy was in one of the best Bond movies ever, gave an awesome performence and now the same people are saying he's the best Bond since Connery.I have nothing against them as actors never seen any of their works but like i have said and other they are just not the right people for superman and batman.
Like i said many times before, height or age aren't the most important factors that make an actor suited for a role, acting performence is. If they give a great performence and the movie is great, nobody will ask about that stuff anymore. And do you really think Miller choose those guys randomly? He saw all the actors, they could've gotten. And there surely where actors who looked more like Supes or Bats. So, why do you think Cotrona and Hammer got the parts? Cause Miller is stupid and wants the movie to suck? Sure...We all know they want a cheap cast to help keep the budget down and use money on other things but come on there is tons of better suited known and unknown actors who could look and give off the presence of the characters better then these two.
