JL Casting Call Update

Good point, lets paint his him green and stick into the movie.

Yes.

Oh yeah, I totally tried to shift discussion to TW by posting pictures of him with Jonathan Bennett in two different productions. I then surreptitiously snuck in two more shots when somebody joked about Bennett being confused for Green Lantern on SV. And just to drive SV and TW discussion home, I provided a final shot showing how a camera angle can be used to offset the visual difference between an actor who's 6'5 in boots (coincidentally the same height as Hammer, the actor rumored to be cast as Batman in JL) and Bennett, who's 6'2 and whom the whole discussion revolved around.

Damn, I'm good. [pats self on back]

C'mon people. The real irony here is the whole reason for why super-t suggested Bennett in the first place - an opinion with which I agreed, btw...

Lone, it's no secret who I like and why, but my interest in posting about JL is because I'd really like to see it done well and with a good cast - even if said cast isn't my first choice. I just wish we'd get some official news soon, one way or another. Though at this point, I'd be happy with confirmation that the film is actually happening, never mind who's been cast.

Pat, I wasn't insinuating that you were gonna start talking abt Welling...I was just teasing you for using pics that had to have Welling in them. Nothing more, nothing less.:cwink:

I'm sorry for the misunderstanding.:yay:

Not really new , but some precisions are very interesting ,and but some bits are too(and the final bit could be or not speculation )

Adam Brody to play the Flash?

But Warner Bros., which has not confirmed, says 'Justice League' hasn't gotten a green light yet.
By Gina Piccalo, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer
December 5, 2007
Adam Brody has closed negotiations to play the Flash, the super-fast superhero in director George Miller's Justice League of America," a source close to the deal said Tuesday. Warner Bros. Pictures, however, won't confirm the news, saying the film still hasn't been green-lighted."

The studio is expected to hold off on an announcement until all the roles are cast and a splashy news conference can herald the return of the beloved series. "Justice League of America" is one of Warner Bros.' highest-priority films right now, with an anticipated 2009 release.

Who will be in 'Justice League'?
Rampant speculation over which celebrities will don tights erupted almost immediately after Miller announced auditions for the leading roles in October, indicating that he wanted "actors who can grow into their super-roles."

Brody, best known as the heartthrob on "The O.C.," joins Australian supermodel Megan Gale, who was reportedly cast as Wonder Woman, apparently beating out Jessica Biel for the part.

Among the other young actors rumored to have been cast are "Friday Night Lights' " Scott Porter as Superman and "Wolf Creek's" Teresa Palmer as Talia al Ghul -- a recurring love interest for Batman. Common (a.k.a. John Stewart) was rumored to be playing the Green Lantern.

The film, which is based on the DC Universe comic first published in 1960, features a team of crime-fighting superheroes, including Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, the Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter and Superman.

The movie opens with the funeral of Barry Allen, the second Flash, whose era dated from 1956 to 1986, according to Slashfilm.com. Brody plays his nephew, who, at age 10, was exposed to electrically charged chemicals while visiting his uncle's police laboratory. The boy donned his uncle's uniform to become a young crime fighter known as Kid Flash. As an adult, the Flash has superhuman reflexes that allow him to violate some laws

So Brody is back in again. Wow! Makes you think the other rumors ain't true.

I wouldnt hold my breath.

I tried that and died. So now I'm haunting these boards. This movie is actually causing people to die. And when the cast list is official (in 2076) the internet will implode and open a portal to Earth2, where Christopher Reeve is still alive and kickin at wearing the suit in the coming JL film, at an age of about 55. Michael Keaton is Batman, Ryan Reynolds is the Flash and an actual actor is playing Wonder Woman. Batman in that movie has a son, played by Armie Hammer. But the earth2 internetgeeks are complaining about Hammer being to old to play Batmans son and the biggest discussion is whether Reeve should have some grey hair or not.

Damn I am bored and damn i miss Cristopher Reeve :(

Need.....cast.....info........now.

Teresa Palmer wasn't in Wolf Creek. Not even close (unless it's just that she's Australian and it's an Australian movie ... in that case Paul Hogan must have played the villain in the that movie).

Edit - Oops, checking IMDB, it says she was in Wolf Creek in a very minor role. I can't even remember her being in it or if it's a speaking role since she's credited as "Pool Party People". The first thing I saw her in was 2:37, a very heavy high school drama. She showed great acting talent in it, in a central role. She has been good in almost everything I've seen her in since. I'm not sure if that'd make her a good Talia (if that rumour is correct), but I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt.

it seem that she was some kind of extra , that's maybe why you don't recall that she was in the movie :o :cwink:

On that last little part are they gonna show some sequence on how Wally became the flash? I've heard that Wally steals the show in this movie, but if they are going to show some sort of origin, and only for him, than I can see Brody having the most lines in this film...

Yeah, my bad. I caught myself pretty quickly.

Right after I hit "post" I thought "I should check to make sure she didn't play a super minor role."

Sigh.

I would much prefer it if green lantern wonder woman and Flash were the focus of this movie...

would be better for superman and batman to hang back

It would make perfect sense for Brody to be Wally but..really Zoe Kazan is Iris Allen

Unless they go the route that Wally and Iris are not related...

So with Warners not "green-lighting" it yet, how do that work? Warners putting out a statement sayings its good to go?

Yup ,that's a possibility too ;) but i was thinking about Barry age there.

You mean with the public?

i guess( if the movie take flight ) that they will say it all in their rumored splashy news conference.

yeah with the public... oh ok...

I really don't see the point of some "splashy" announcement... I mean it won't be the outcome if this movie is successful or not...

I wonder if the WB will release Character Posters but the catch is it will be the back of the Heroes with nothing but the name of the movie & studio & we would still have no idea who is actually cast in the role :o
