An actual star joins Justice League

The Justice League movie has been particularly rumoury of late, with all sorts of casting stories flying about. But recently many sites have been running their casting stories as 100% confirmed. Today, The LA Times has confirmed slashfilm.com's story that Adam Brody will play The Flash in George Miller's upcoming film.

We like Brody as a choice for The Flash aka Wally West. The character's apparently intended as the most comedic of the ensemble and Brody's brand of bemused sarcasm should fit well. Stop reading now if you don't want to know potential spoilers about the beginning of the Justice League movie.

Wally West is set to be the second Flash, with the movie opening with the funeral of previous Flash, Barry Allen. Young Wally is Barry's nephew and was exposed to superpower-giving electro-chemicals when visiting his uncles laboratory as a child.

ok, I haven’t been reading any of the script reviews, or what not, but, I don't know if I like the idea of the movie opening with Barry already dead, i'd prefer to see him dead in action (within the movie), but, idk

Finally something official.

Not to be a naysayer, but I won't call anything official unless it comes straight from WB. This is quite promising, and the closest we've had.
:ss:

We finally got some news. I'm happy with Brody as Flash. He looks the part and he can act too. Well that's one down and an as-of-yet undisclosed amount to go.

It's not really official. Here is the link to the LA Times article. Take note that the subtitle in the headline says that Warner Brothers has "not confirmed" it nor has the Justice League film been green-lit yet. Here is the latest pictue of Brody:

For those of you who say that he is too young he certainly looks older here. The film probably won't be official until after they have signed all the cast members to a contract. Expect to see an announcement (and a green-light) just before they start filming in February.

at first i wasnt that into brody as the flash, but i think he's gonna be good

I think Brody would be decent as Wally West.

I also think it is quite a stretch to consider him a box office draw of any kind.

As for Cudmore, a 6'7" Superman makes for a pretty ridiculous looking Clark Kent (who probably doesn't make an appearance, but should still be considered)

Although I'd rather go with a 6'7" muscular Superman, than a 5'8" beanpole.

Batman is supposed to be 6'2" while Superman is 6'3" (I don't know where DC officially stated that he's 6'4" since that's Reeve's height). I get these from DC's website a while ago. But then again, we can't be sure now because DC has pulled down their official bios from its website. Suspiciously though, the "Secret Origin" part of the website doesn't have Superman's, so I wonder why is that?

Anyway, back to topic, if I remember correctly, J'onnz is supposed to be the tallest (6'7"), so now if Batman's upped to 6'5" and Supes's 6'8" (Cudmore's height), should they make J'onnz taller?

I think Superman was 6'4" at one time when they first did "Who's Who in the DC Universe" (circa 1985 after Christopher Reeve became Superman). The heights have always varied over the years and there is no reason why it couldn't change again (I think Wonder Woman is now listed at 6'0").

I don't know about Adam Brody as Flash.
Unless he hits the gym, I can't see it, he's a skinny man.

You don't need to be a star to be potentially succesful.

The LA TIMES article called Brody a "star" Maze....

They are trying to spin a positive buzz on this JL casting atrocity.....I'm not buying it...

actually, height of the actors, or the comic counterparts is irrelevant

what matters is comparative height to their co-stars

Come on...he basically copied Reeve.

So? a lot of young actor try to emulate other actors style achieving it is another matter.

and Routh did a much more restrained Kent and a more god like Superman.

the difference were subtle but they were there.

Routh was fine as Supes, but the movie was a boring mess.

Yup i personnaly see more irony in their title than anything else.

An actual star joins Justice League

the project is known and mocked to have obscure actors. so yes in contrast Brody is a "star."

Daniel Cudmore also read for Superman Returns. If this new rumor is true then it'd have been his second shot at the part.

I really wish WB would say something official on JL. Everyone seems to be confirming the cast except them.:o

Some pics of Adam Brody at a hotel in Beverly Hills taken on Nov.30.Look at the shade of his glasses.:woot:

:woot: Thanks retro

I would like this to be over too ..but in a way IF all the actors are not cast i prefer that Warner take its time and get the best actors for the role available (considering that they are already sufficiently in shape , the clock is ticking :o )

Here's an update on the Cudmore thing. I decided to contact his reps and this is what they said..."Sorry, but right now we cannot comment on any current auditions or negotiations regarding our client."

Does it mean anything?? Certainly not, but it is interesting. They did tell me some details on his physique though. He stands 6' 8" and weighs in at 265lbs.

I'm not trying to bag on Routh and I don't want to get into that mess....but I would like a semi good to good actor play Superman sometime within the next 20 years if possible.

And hey I would have liked to have Routh back for this JL film for the sake of continuity....but that way would have been to logical and easy for WB's.

Hence the joke of a C grade cast we will be getting for this JL film.
