What about J'onn? He fits that description much better than Superman, as he actually remembers the culture and loved ones he lost first hand.

Ennis probably doesn't give a damn about damn dirty martians when talking about struggling with human emotion.

If Ennis thinks Superman is the only superhero character worth a damn, he's just trying to invent an axe to grind.

That or perhaps its some kind of kinky homage to the character thats inadvertently been his bread and butter. If it wasn't for Supes paving the way for all other superpowered comics, then Ennis wouldn't have superheroes to hate.

Thought it was an ok issue. With usual Ennis anti-superhero tendencies. I do like how Ennis writes Superman, A lot, but its a bit too clear how much he dislikes other superhero characters. The artist John McCrea was interviewed a while back about this miniseries in Newsarama,were he told that Superman is one of Garth Ennis favorite characters.
