Gotta go with Flash Facts on this. Wally learning to use his super-speed on his own and then eventually merging with the Speed Force and attaining new levels of understanding is no different from Jean learning to use her telepathy and then merging with the Phoenix to access higher powers. Besides which, it's not like Wally learned how to do everything in an instant. Savitar knew far more about manipulating the Speed Force than Wally does, and he got to that level of knowledge through meditation and years of hard study.

Exactly, though most of the cool stuff that Savitar learned came from after having contact with the speed force.

Actually people can learn to control their heart rate and blood flow. Scientists and doctors have been studying this since the 60's or 70's. Sending telepathy through the radio is ridiculous for anybody.

Well at least we are in partial agreement. Well on the heart rate and blood flow thing you may be right to some degree, I do recall reading something about that in the past, but it's all vague so and I can't debate you over it. I did however just use those two bodily actions as an exmaple, and i never said that Xavier overrided someones heart rate or blood flow, but I do recall him doing the central nervous system thing, which I've never heard of anyone being able to have some degree of control over.

Marvel does trump DC in the villians dept, but DC is getting better. DC has some decent villians. I think during Morrison's run on JLA he turned out some interesting villians and improved on some old ones.

JLA wins but they are amazingly boring as are most of DCs characters baring Batman imo. they also have absolutely no villains worth reading Joker, twoface and darksied thats it.

Black Adam
Darkseid
Lex
Mordru: terriably underused

Superboy Prime: can't tell me this kid wouldn't own the Xmen by himself. I'll give the xmen the win and that's only if Phoenix is there, but he's going to wipe out some of them. Even though Magneto shouldn't even be on the team to begin with he'd get the beat down to from SP. Mags will see this kid and underestimate him, and while magneto will get some shots in, SP is going kill him. I love what DC did with this kid. A version of Superman, who's more powerful then the Superman of the main universe and without any morals to make him hold back.

Superboy prime is just a cheap knockoff from superman (as is black adam to Shazam for that matter) why cant DC create a whole NEW villain who is powerful enough to beat supes. If there is a JLA film the ONLY VILLAIN who could be included would be Darkseid why? because of alll the world threat villains in DC he is the only interesting one DC has.

I think it has more to do with the power "level" of villains in each company. Both obvious have a good amount, but if you ask me Marvel has more and in a way too many all-powerful villains, thus the need for more powerful heroes is a must. That is one reason I steer away from most Marvel.

You call it more creative/interesting, I call it more boring and omnipotent.

Oh please, now you're just throwing words together and hoping they magically turn into some kind of argument. When's the last time Marvel created a villain worth a damn? The fact is that both publishers rely primarily on classic villains because they're classics. People know them and can identify them, you don't need to create a whole new backstory or work too hard on them, and they're always appreciated because they continue long-standing rivalries that fans want to see.

Also, the fact that Darkseid is the only interesting uber-powerful villain you know of doesn't mean he's the only one DC has. Try reading some of DC's better comics before fabricating complaints with no basis.

Just like how Venom is a knock off spider-man? Sabretooth is a Knock off Wolverine? Abomination is a Knock off Hulk? Red Skull is a knock off Captain America? I could go on........

I think DC has some of the most interesting depthy(look at the flash villlians right now. Look at Sinestro.) bad guy's of any comic book universe. Just let your bias go for a second.......

Besides....you keep saying this stuff like Marvel has the greatest villains of all time! Who do they have that makes them so much better than DC's? Please don't say Doctor Doom.

I really want the next major event to involve Myx. I know I've been saying this lately...but come on. I wished DC used Myx more often. Myx is the ****. :csad:

Yeah, but he's not really a villain anymore. Unless they revert him to being as petty and obnoxious as he used to be with post-IC retcons.

I've wanted that too. I was really hoping they would touch more on the whole connection to Darkseid and the fourth world fifth dimension connection.

I like Mxyzptlk too, but he's basically omnipotent so I don't think it'd make for an interesting storyline.

Well their are plenty of knock offs over in the marvel universe. How is Superboy Prime a problem for you, but Dark Beast from AOL just hanging around isn't a problem? How are the two different? Explain it please? Superboy Prime is a Superman from an alternate universe, and Dark Beast is Beast from an alternate universe and both are currently in the main universes of marvel and DC.

Even all the put downs of DC still doesn't change the fact that this kid would crush the Xmen all by himself with magneto on the team. Phoenix would be their only saving grace but since she's dead, well bye bye Xmen.

Now Although I think Superman could handle the Xmen by himself, i think he'd lose cause he restrains himself. The entire JLA is a different matter. The Xmen would lose.

Couldn't Wally crush Mags in that field he throws up? Wally can after all lend and drain speed from other things. He used his powers one time to give Superman added speed too where supes went past the speed of light. Couldn't he do that to magneto and slam him into the moon or something? Magneto does not have a Superhuman body, he could easily be stabbed with a knife if caught off gurad. At a certain point and this is real science that the human body can not withstand the forces of going beyond a certain speed. Our internal organs would be crushed. Now we all know that Wally is immune to that do to his connection with the speed force or whatever and that he could move at high speeds with others and protect them, but he wouldn't do it to protect mags. How would magneto have a defense against that or even know that wally could do that thing wiith speed?

People who are bias just assumes that magneto will figure out the JLA so easily, while they wouldn't have no clue as to what they were up against. JLA takes it.

Dude, If Vision couldn't get through Maggy's shields, how is Flash?

Maggs could possibly waste the entire JLA.

Not sure exactly how related this will be to your current discusion. BUT, there is much about the human mind controlling the human bodies functions etc. that modern medicine knows very little about.

I can't remember exactly what show it was but it was on the Discovery channel a few years ago and some scientist or host or whatever was travelling around the world studying different cultures I can't remember exactly what the purpose was.

But he spent some time with the Shao Lin Monks (sp) and as I am sure many of you have seen their demonstrations of control over their bodies and being able to withstand their bodies being pierced with swords while they bend them against their skin etc. (Although I am sure many are skeptic about this and would relate it to something along the lines of walking on hot coals or laying on a bed of nails, more about physics than actualy body manipulation).

Anyway, what did really interest me was that the monks would practice a specific technique where they would wrap their upper bodies in wet sheets and then meditate. They would literally dry the sheets with the bodies. They raised their body temperatures high enough so the film crew could actually see steam comming off the sheets draped over them.

Don't underestimate Wally, he is far more powerful than people give him credit for. He could possibly vibrate right through it.

Yeah, they have been studying that phenomenon for decades now. I read about it in the early 70's. A guy sits naked in the snow and drapes a wet blanket around his body and proceeds to dry the blanket and melt the snow for 10 feet around him. They started with the study of Hindu yogis in the 60's studying the way they could control bleeding, heartbeat and respiration. When they started studying this in the lab they coined the term Biofeedback to describe the process of watching scientific instruments monitoring their vitals in order to learn to control their autonomic functions.

Sweet

I'm going to stick to the path less traveled and say that Batman, with preptime and money, could beat all of the X-men by himself. This need not be done one at a time; he could beat them all simultaneously, all by himself. The rest of the JLA are just gravy.

But then again, every member of the X-men could beat Hal Jordan, even that guy in the wheelchair. What does 'Wheelie' even do anyways?
