This guy gets it. If the film happens, let's hope they get it too.why i mentioned the last action hero is because of the way they make fun of the action genre...
there are other movies who do it better but it is schwarzenegger...the main influence for duke.
and that hamlet scene was how i really thought duke nukem should be...stupid one liner, lighting up the cigar and blowing ***** up.
with movies like dredd 3d, deadpool and kung fury getting a feature length film, a duke nukem movie will have a good paved way and its a good time now to succeed.
i saw others debating about it on youtube thinking he could be outdated and learn a lesson about being more ''polite''...i say f that`!!!!
no lessons and no evolving character arch!!!
as an example i chose dredd 3d because its a movie where a guy goes inside a skyscraper and kills everyone, end of story.
aliens attack, kidnapp chicks and duke saves the day. the end
just make the humor clever and not too childish or just crude.
a stuborn general, chicks in need, cool ways of killing aliens. driving a harley or a monster truck, flying a spaceship...
just no stupid sidekick like in stallones dredd!!!....if they do so, i'll fly over to hollywood and rip those writers heads off
...some good jabs at the genre. not too much on the nose. and very, very action packed.
i mean really amping up the game in terms of stunts and camera work.
it has to look cool even if the story is paper thin.
this is the right thing for michael bay studios...style over substance and if they are a bit careful with the jokes they'll have a hit
Also, maybe the character arc of the film is that there's no character arc.
