John Lasseter rebooting Winnie the Pooh for Disney

Hey, Disney.... promoting this might not be a bad idea. :o

They showed the trailer in front of Cars 2. I saw the morning show with my nephew, so it was a theater full of 3-5-year-olds. The reaction was like The Beatles reunited onscreen.

It looks adorable, I can't wait to see it.

wait, i thought this already came out, im pretty sure i saw it in a theater months ago.

Potter is getting all the attention this weekend, but I did see this last night with a female friend of mine who wanted to check it out, as well as myself. I definitely recommend it, as it captures the original's feel ridiculously well, and the humor is a lot of clever wordplay that will crack you up on more than one occasion. I had a lot of Pooh crap when I was little, so it hit the heartstrings with me a bit. :o

^You had a lot of pooh crap...haha that sounds funny:oldrazz:

Anyway I want to see this. They chose a real bad day though, I think Lasseter is conspiring to bring down Disney hand drawn animation.

Deadline estimates the film will make 7.8m this weekend. Is that good?

I saw soooo many little ones at the movie theater today when I saw HP who were seeing this movie. It was so adorable! Lots of them had their Pooh stuffed animals with them. I hope it does well.

it doesn't come out here til september i think, hoping it does well
you're never too old to like winnie the pooh :)

Disney was on drugs to choose July 15 as the opening day. Pooh can't even serve as counterprograming to choose from the way Mamma Mia did for the Dark Knight or Horrible Bosses did for Transformers 3. Kids, adults, families, etc. all want to go see Harry Potter. Damn shame too because I think that if it weren't opened to such a crowded box office, it would be quite successful.

it depends on the budget of the film.
I'm sure it was made for cheap.

See, the thing is that a lot of families won't bring their 3-5 year olds to Potter because it's way too intense for them. So they'll opt for this. Personally, I'd rather see parents bring a three year old into Winnie the Pooh than bring them into Harry Potter where they'll be scared to death. Personally, I think Disney would have had better luck had they waited until August, but I don't think Pooh was going to make that much money anyway.

Hahah, I saw the exact same thing. When I saw babies being brought into the theater I was thinking "Please God, let them be going to Pooh and not Harry Potter."

Most families don't take their 3-5 year olds to theaters to begin with. I think that if Disney waited a little bit for the box office competition to clear up a bit, families would have taken their 5-10 year olds, fans of nostalgia for the old Pooh films, etc. would have gone to see it.

I think it would have been a rather decently successful film to release during the fall when all there really is is the Muppets, Sherlock Holmes, and Breaking Dawn.

saw it last night,
really enjoyed it, the new voices for piglet, owl and rabbit took awhile to get used to though

8/10

This movie cost less than $30 million to make and so far it's made less than 28 million.

The clean up on this film was done by Yowza Animation in Toronto, Canada. Their website is not updated with thier work on Pooh, but their company name was on the credits in the theater.

They did clean up on the Princess and the Frog as well, as you can see on their website.

The biggest media, theme parks, movie studio in the world in my opinion doesn't need to play it safe like this property (Pooh) and to cut corners by outsourcing to Canada, while there are exceptionally talented and experienced America artists that need the work.

This Pooh movie was decent but Tigger's animation was amateurish (by Andreas Deja).

Thanks spam bot, you just reminded me I still haven't seen this movie.

I have been haunted by Winnie the Pooh my whole life. Then I blame my paresnts for naming me Christopher Robin.

I really should hit up this film.

Loved it. Make sure you watch through the credits. I was also pumped when I bought he blu ray and saw that it came with The Ballad of Nessy.
