$849,1 mil WW.

Refuses to die.

$900 mil is now a foregone conclusion.

Will hit $925 mil. $1 Billion still seems unlikely to me but not completely impossible.
I continue to quote you on that :p like you said, fair game ahah

i believe in 1 billion :word: :D

Ofc. Im not sweating or anything either. The highest Joker can go is $975 mil.
It cant hit a billion without an expansion or re-release.
For me it was obvious from the start and i said it everytime i saw someone saying it will or might hit a billion.

Quoting me is fine. :D

Ahaha we'll see ;)

‘Joker’ Is About To Reach Three Huge Box Office Milestones

Joker is about to pass Man of Steel in North America, top both Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man 3 worldwide while becoming the first R-rated movie to reach $900 million in global grosses.

In holdover news, DC Films’ Joker earned another $3.84 million (-30%) on Friday to give it a $289.527 million domestic cume. Terminator: Dark Fate provided little in the way of competition and, presuming it has maintained its 32.6%/67.4% overseas split, the $60 million flick has earned $888 million worldwide. That means it’ll pass three big milestones today. First, it’ll pass the $291 million unadjusted domestic cume of Man of Steel. Second, it’ll pass (if it hasn’t already) the unadjusted global cumes of Spider-Man: Homecoming ($880 million in 2017) and Spider-Man 3 ($890 million in 2007) to become the eighth-biggest comic book movie ever worldwide. Oh, and sometime today, the Joaquin Phoenix flick will become the first R-rated movie to pass $900 million in global ticket sales.

The Todd Phillips drama should earn $13.6 million (-30%) in its fifth weekend of release, bringing its domestic cume to $299.2 million. It’ll either pass $300 million domestic tomorrow or very early on Monday. Presuming that split holds, it’ll end tomorrow night with around $918 million worldwide. With these holds, Joker could end up somewhere closer to Suicide Squad ($325 million), Batman v Superman ($330 million) and Aquaman ($334 million) than Thor: Ragnarok ($315 million). And if it really does end up in the Oscar conversation, then it could end as DC Films’ second-biggest movie domestically (behind Wonder Woman) and worldwide (behind Aquaman). It’s too early to predict, but it could make it to $1 billion without China.

Some incredible holds by Joker despite new big movies opening every week.

Gonna smash $950 mil WW by the looks of it. Close to $975 mil finish.

Going to be tight for $1 billion. Didnt seem possible to me before but now its not out of the question.
Although i would still bet against it. I think its gonna miss it by a hair.

From that article -
Director Todd Phillips' R-rated pic starring Joaquin Phoenix in the titular role is a huge win for Warner Bros. and DC, particularly since it isn't a traditional superhero movie.

Joker, costing a relatively modest $60 million to produce before marketing, is now assured of generating profits of $500 million or more for Warners and partners Village Roadshow and Bron Studios.
..........

Village Roadshow and Bron Studios each have a 25 percent stake in Joker.

WB won't let it. I fully expect a big push during and post-Oscar season.

Even with drops closer to 50% during NOV it should make 1.04B+ so won't be tight.

@8ulk87 I am with you on not getting my hopes too high for a billie. Mostly because I want to celebrate whatever it lands on at this point because it's no small feat. Although, we have to admit now that the international gross is exceeding my estimates from last week. Admittedly I was being conservative with the international estimates to begin with(I wanted to be cautious). Jokers international drops have been way less than half every week since it's release. But in my estimates (seen below) I still cut them in half every week(to be on the safe side):

It appears now, that as of Thursday US time, Joker has already made around $30 million internationally since last weekend. My projection for the full international week(including this current weekend) was $40 million. At this point, it looks like it is going to exceed that by a lot if I am understanding the numbers right. The idea of it being able to reach a Billie sans China is becoming a stronger possibility. This is some nail-biting ish right here lol.

Oh boy i was wrong.

Since its now already at $934 mil WW and considering OS still did $37 mil this weekend which is nuts id reckon its safe to say $1 bil is 99,99% happening unless something magical occurs.

OS markets refuse to let this movie go. Simply astonishing.

An R-Rated billion dollar movie. Who would have thought.

$1010 -1030 mil total.

It will take some hit from Dark Fate and Midway no way around it. It just may be a small one.

As far as the impressive box office numbers being an R Rated film also lacking a China release is indeed remarkable but i dont think the lack of 3d played any noticeable role.

Only 1 out of 10 people prefer 3d over 2d anyways.

3d is dying and it doesnt have that much of an impact imho.

Dark Fate really hit this hard huh?...:hehe:

Hell yeah this is going to fly past $1B WW now. Just magnificent numbers all around and it is insanely impressive that all of this is being done without the help of China.

Dark Fate really hit this hard huh?...:hehe:

As it seems nothing can touch this movie. The Prince of crime is too strong.

Id thought Dark Fate would do better but apparently not.

I appreciate your being conservative about how much this movie would make. I was right there with you particularly last week because honestly you never know. I think it's smart to be cautious because even if this film didn't hit a billion it still would have been a massive success. And I think those of us in the forum should have been able to appreciate a just under a billion success too. And because we were conservative, I think it's just all the more sweeter that we know now it will definitely hit a billion.

I was expecting 400-500M, 700M-ish tops if things go crazy, this is incredible.

1 billion on a 60M+ budget without China, more profitable than Endgame, big chance to win some key awards in the coming months, this is an international pop cultural event

The numbers continue to impress.

I’m thinking Disney is seriously reconsidering making Deadpool 3 PG-13 now. They really might keep it R-rated under the Fox label.

After a few miss-fires, the message now has to be crystal clear to WB/DC. Allow directors to craft a proper story and people will see it. You don't need to spend hundreds of millions of dollars on each film. If they have any sense between them, this blueprint of content driven story telling should be the way forward!
